Re: Are You An AROC Member?

I'm in

Although I'm hardly what you would call an active member, sitting on the sofa with a beer and the magazine is about as much participation as I can manage

But it is a very good magazine and when you think what a subscription to Auto Italia costs then its quite good value.

You get a little sticker too

Re: Are You An AROC Member?

I keep intending to, and will by the end of the year. I was in the Lancia club when I had the integrale and that was OK, met the guy who ran it at the time and he was scary. Someone told him the car he had bought, and the guy was able to rattle off the cars history

yes....imagine you are in a pub one day and you start talking about your car...the bloke stood at the bar overhears you. he then comes over and proceeds to tell you the complete history of your car....

would you be A)...propper freaked out and think he was stalking you

or B)...there is no B..

I'm in, it's not 'anoraky' at all, although you do get 'those' types in all clubs that exists. They do some good shows and club meets.

Re: Are You An AROC Member?

I am & active in the Central Mids section. Good events and a decent bunch of people. Generally, they don't like it if you diss ARUK even if you have a valid point. Forum is a bit stuffy as a result but it is worth a visit. Prefer this forum as it's a bit livlier & I've not had a yellow card from here yet;-)

Overall, IMO, all Alfa owners should be a member!!

Re: Are You An AROC Member?

I'm a member, not active as in helping out (yet) but I go to events and frequent the Forum more than AO these days. The 105 technical section is better than AO, but this site is probably better for the modern stuff.
I used to enjoy AO for the Banter, but TBH it's got a bit silly recently, why do we need so many pointless poles about how long your Toe Nails are or whatever??

AROC can feel a bit stuffy and the avarage age profile is probably higher than AO, but I am an old bugger (reletively) anyway. Still worth joining if you are serious about Alfa's though.

Thumbs Up Re: Are You An AROC Member?

I'm in.........

Went to one meet at Longleat last summer (my First).
Kidded Mrs Foxie into thinking it was a day at the zoo. She was not to pleased that it was a AROC meet; but she unintentionally got her piccie into the magazine

So, to redeem myself we drove on to the auto-jumble at Beaulieu, to spend the rest of the day

Beats shoe shopping

Crazed Re: Are You An AROC Member?

I joined AROC Queensland (Australia) today.... In Australia you can sometimes get discounts on insurance and the such if you are a club member...

And if you ever want to do any sort of low level racing you need to be in a club with CAMS affiliation (Australian car racing authority) to get a CAMS licence...

Think I qualify as "slightly active" as well.

I'm bi-sectional and can be seen regularly at meetings of the Sussex Coast and Goodwood sections.

Re: Are You An AROC Member?

I'm in AROC but I too can't say that i'm what you'd call 'active'. I read the mag etc but haven't yet got around to going to a 'meet'. They do sometimes have some good deals from Alfa specialists when your bella needs a bit of tlc (x% off of the bill ) and when the 156 was on its production runout they got ARUK to offer them to members at vastly reduced prices for a new one.
