Wave Preferred writing pen colour?

Lets face it, I guess we don't hand write much these days... but when you do, like say a greeting card, post-it note or a note for the milkman What is your preferred pen colour?

Please ignore the fact that some forms require you to use a certain colour, just go by what feels right for you

Do you prefer to read in a different colour than you prefer to write in?

I used to love writing in a fountain pen I once had

Warning Re: Preferred writing pen colour?

====

Well I'm stunned I know blue is probably the most common (maybe that's the reason then ) but I would have thought black would be the preferred choice. We basically read in black on white

EDIT: Almost as soon as I said what I said here, the poll has now swung in favour of black

I have a really nice metallic silver one with a very fine nib - not very useful as you can't see it in certain light - but I like it

Re: Preferred writing pen colour?

Good, black is winning

You pencil pushers are being daft You surely don't write greeting cards etc in pencil

Next you'd be saying you trace over it with pen and use a rubber to remove the pencil ....Liars

Re: Preferred writing pen colour?

same here, we have seperate bins for paper, but our local authority doesn't collect seperatley for plastics, so we do collect them up and take them down the tip every now and again!

However I tend to write in Blue IF I use a pen, but do tend to use a clutch pencil most times as I am always scribbling over drawings etc.

Re: Preferred writing pen colour?

Blue, because where I work you have to, it is the only common colour available, therefore I often come home with some in pocket.

Green

I always use a green biro at work, and have started to use one more at home as well. Dunno why, it just makes a nice change.

Lick Re: Preferred writing pen colour?

I used to always use purple ink Staedtler (sp?) sticks, but they stopped producing them, which made me blue.

Now I use Parker purple ink gel refills in my pen - not as good a shade as the Staedtler, but still distinctive. Hence, my casenotes are always easily recognisable in a pile of boring blue or black.

Pencil, since I make a lot of spelling mistakes whilst writing, it helps being able to erase what I've written.

Re: Preferred writing pen colour?

Is there not some legality about using blue or black inks. Not sure if this is one of those tales - but apparently cheques written in any colour other than blue or black are technically illegal.

Any one heard this before ?
