The Ring Trip - how will you prepare?

Ok, so most of you are not going (gloat), but for the purposes of this poll, you are allowed to pretend. Just tick the box that is closest to your approach to such ventures. Cheers.

Re: The Ring Trip - how will you prepare?

Don't own a Playstation, and was never a fan of sim racing, but none the less, with the ring trip comming up, i went out and bought a quality PC controller (steering wheel with pedals) bought the PC game "GT" Then I figured out (after some effort), how to download and install the Nordschliefe add-on. Intalled the steering wheel, and then i was finally ready. Started it up, and was well impressed with the gameplay and realism. But..... it just doesnt light any fire in me. In the end its nothing like the real thing. Its like waching Porn. No substitue for the real thing. So bottom line, i tihnk i spent 10 hrs researching and setting it up, and 4hrs playing it before i got fed up.

P.S anyone interested in buying a set of basically new Controller+GT game.?

Re: The Ring Trip - how will you prepare?

This is a hugely impressive comparison of Real ring footage and the PS2 version, if you watch carefully after a minute or so the two are synchronized and the visuals are almost identical.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...&q=nurburgring

The footage starts from the grand prix track before joining the Ring proper.

Cheers,
TB
