Thumbs Up Re: Do You Like Lasagne?

Throw some chips and a big blob of coleslaw onto the side of the plate too and it's one of my all time fave meals

Interesting that. Jenny makes a 'special' Lasagne with Quorn (that's not the special bit, we miss out lots of the usual ingredients because we're fussy. Basically it comes down to quorn mince, campbells tomato soup, lasagne, cheese and cheese sauce - it's dead nice though, honest)
Anyway, occasionally she feels guilty about not feeding me enough meat, so she made the lasagne with real mince for me one night - wasn't half as nice.

Generally speaking I think Quorn is OK, I can't be present while it's being cooked though, it's vile smelling stuff, smells like dogfood.

Yes. The only lasagne I didn't like was the one made by my highschool cafeteria.

Re: Do You Like Lasagne?

Love it

Especially home-made......

..... just for my curiosity - do you make you own lasagne?

And, if you do, do you make it all from scratch (including the tomato sauce, the bechemel sauce, and the pasta), or do you get dried pasta and ready-made sauces?

Re: Do You Like Lasagne?

Yes, I love Lasagne
I always make the sauces and fillings from scratch, but normally use pre-formed dried pasta..... you'd be at it all day otherwise and there would be little time to savour the wine that goes into the sauce!!

Re: Do You Like Lasagne?

I just recently started making my own Lasagne although I do cheat by using ready-made sauces. I use Dolmio Lasagne sauce, white cheese sauce instead of béchamel and fresh pasta sheets, which are much better than the dried equivalent.

Re: Do You Like Lasagne?

I have made fresh pasta in the past but its a bit labour intensive. Cant find fresh pasta sheets here in UAE but it may be available in frozen form.... I'll check it out.

Yes...but only if it's home made. Can't stand that frozen stuff they try to pass off as lasagne

Fresh pasta is actually ridiculously easy to make:

Break one egg into some plain flour, mix it up until you get a fairly stiff dough (adding more flour if necessary). Add just a drizzle of olive oil to it, then roll it out flat.

That should give you enough pasta for one lasagne.
