Re: How long till I get my Coupe back?

Yep

Drove the Corsa to work today. You feel like you need to lean into the corners, otherwise the car will roll over.

It'll all be worthwhile when she comes back with those nasty marks removed though.

Re: How long till I get my Coupe back?

Your right.....I had just a small area on my rear bumper repaired about two years ago...still look at it (but no sign of any repair - good job done by Chips-Away). Just nice to think it's all as it should be......

My guess is that you will get her back before www.vividscene.com will be back online

Lovely car bazza, checked her out in the "garage", i do like a black motor. Is it a Limited Edition? Do you have trouble starting when hot? I have a mate who's got a red LE (I really don't like those red seats!) and when the engine's hot, he has trouble starting her. Any ideas?
Cheers, Percy.

Not an LE, so no bright red seats, but a late model 20VT, so it gets all the PLUS bits, which are a similar type to the LE bits. Recaro seats (but in black), brembo callipers, cross-drilled discs, starter button, 6-speed gearbox.
In terms of the starting problem, it's not something mine has ever done (touch wood) but there's a thread on here about a spider doing the exact same thing, so there might be some ideas on there:

Re: How long till I get my Coupe back?

I reckon Thursday.

Bazza, where have you taken her for the paintwork? I'm thinking about getting the front of mine done, it's getting a horrific collection of stonechips. I'd be interested to hear what the finished job looks like, the one place I used to trust doing paintwork local to me has shut down

Re: How long till I get my Coupe back?

It's a place in Congleton called Locke & Hankey. I've used them before, on my Alfa, and been very impressed with the job. They're a independant local firm too, so their prices for non-insurance jobs are very good value.

Re: How long till I get my Coupe back?

Cheers, I'm sure I've heard of them, are they the ones down the road at the side of the Cycle Centre?

Re: How long till I get my Coupe back?

Erm... that depends on what you mean by the cycle centre.
There is a shop in Congleton called The Cycle Centre, and they're nowhere near there. But they are down the road near Deans Toys and Cycles. If you know Congleton at all, the easiest way to get to them is to go through the centre of town, past the town hall (heading away from the pedestrian area), it turns into a one-way street (lawton street), and you take the next left (by Kels bakery). It's about 5 yards down that street. There's a car park further down on the right, since you can't park at the place itself.
The reason you might recognise the name is that all the stuff on lawton street, including L&H, backs onto Mountbatten way, so you can see their advertising hoarding as you go along the dual carriageway.

Re: How long till I get my Coupe back?

Ode, if you're still reading, this might interest you.
An example of good service:

When I went to pick the car up he pointed out one of the rear light wells, in which the paint had been getting a bit dodgy. I hadn't asked about a respray of that because it still looked OK apart from up close, and I'd been told you couldn't remove the light housing, so thought it'd be difficult and expensive. He'd noticed the problem when working on the bootlid, and stripped and resprayed it - no extra charge.
On noticing that the rear bumper had some scratches across the top of it, he's also sprayed the whole bumper, despite only quoting for one corner. When I went the first time he was valeting it. I asked if I was better giving him an hour or so to finish it off, the reply: "Yeah, if you give me an hour, I've noticed a few little stone chips on it, I'll touch them up for you as I go round".

You just can't beat that kind of 'do the best job we can' attitude.

Re: How long till I get my Coupe back?

Nice It's nice to hear there are still places where you can get a top job and good service. Thanks Bazza, I'll go to see them when it's paintwork time
