Sounds great. Many set up options but need decent speakers to match.
Display is too bright at night with no option to dim, but you can flip down the front whilst it still plays so that gets rid of that issues sometimes.
Also display is very small and the text doesnt move so not all parts of the song title can be displayed.
However besides that, looks great in the 156 and suits the dash design perfectly.
Also doddle to fit in, just remember to get the plastic fascia surround as well so it looks nice and snug.
Here;s mine in action:
Mine sounds good with the original line-fit speakers.
The display brightness is not a fault with the radio, it's because Alfa's don't seem to have an "illumination" pin in the ISO connector, this requires a 12volt supply to activate the dimmer function, just take a feed from the cigarette lighter illumination so when the lights go on, the display will dim.
I like the lack of a large, "busy" display, besides which, not a good idea to be reading the display info too much when driving!
Scrolling text is not illegal in the U.K. A lot of sets have it, including some Pioneers i think.
By the way Pascs, can you receive all U.K. F.M. stations with a U.S. tuner?
Go on Mrs Roswell, buy him the Pioneer, He'll have to get you something really nice to compete with it!
