There's a scar man waiting in the

Do you have any decent scars?

How many and how did they happen?

I have one on my head, six stitches across where I hit it off a beam in a playground when I was about six.
Then one on my forearm from a mugging , fourteen stitches.
And one across my lower abdomen from hernia operations when I was a puppy.

Can't match that I'm afraid. But I do have one in my eyebrow from chicken pox that I'm very proud of .

Oh and my index finger's a bit bent from when I shut it in the school door....a long time ago (does that count?)

One about 150mm long on my upper arm where an unsightly birth mark was removed when I was about ten or twelve...scar is WAY better than what was there before!!

There are a few others, results of work or play.

Forgot to mention the small one on my index finger when a drinks stirrer broke in my hand at a cocktail party. That was a good night.

Bent extremities count too, within reason gentlemen of course. Tsk.

Re: There's a scar man waiting in the

Being a generally clumsy and boisterous child I have many scars, but none are really big.
Both my knees are pretty much nothing but scar tissue from playing football on Astroturf and tarmac and ripping them up. Also, lumps in two places on knees where nurses used 'butterfly stitches' instead of real ones, which are hopeless. That was after I fell down some stairs, onto a plate (which I had left at the bottom of the stairs) which broke and stuck into my knee. As did the fork.
I have scars on the backs of my hands from attempting to separate two fighting dogs nicely rather than sticking the boot in as would have been sensible, and also two longer ones there from putting my hand through a window while drunk
Scar on bottom of foot where a rusty nail went through it.
Scar on arm where garden gate blew closed on me and had a nail sticking out of it.
Scar on skin between eye and eyebrow where a little scally heaved a stone at me.
Scars on all knuckles from various clumsy accidents.
2 inch scar on back of head from falling off swing.

I've got one in my forehead from head-butting a windscreen when I was 19. There's a matching one on the side of my head too from the same incident but it's hidden by my hair. I've also got one on the palm of my right hand that I did with a wood chisel trying to make a submarine out of a washing up liquid bottle (I blame Blue Peter for that one). Numerous others on my elbows and legs from moutain bike related incidents, but none too obvious.

I've got a nice one about 2 inches long on my left shin. I played ice hockey when younger and a friend ran his skate down my leg accidentally whilst messing about. The result was a groove in the shin bone and lots of red ice . Euuugggh!!!

Re: There's a scar man waiting in the

Scar on my upper lip from when I fell over and facebutted a table edge whilst overexcitedly trying to find an action man commando that had been bought for my 8th birthday.

Scars all inside my lower lip from my one foray into playing rugby, someone ran at me with their head down straight into my face. Suffice to say teeth are really good at going through lips and out the other side.

Two on the palm of my hand from pushing the door open with a computer I was carrying. Screws were sticking out the bottom and thus stuck firmly in my hand. Not a big scar but at the time I was leaving a good trail of blood.

Scar across the palm of my left hand........

Pulled on a rope that was hanging from a tree......

only to find it had been used to hang milk bottles from as airgun targets.......

My hand slid down the rope and the broken neck of the milk bottle sliced through the palm

that's amazing - given that it must have taken a lot of operations to covert you from a puppy to a man, I'd have thought you'd have many more scars than that, John.

I have one scar on my middle finger. When I was a kid, I fell onto a boiler type thingy and soon learnt why my mum had warned me never to touch it. My finger blistered up quite badly. A few days later, with it still blistered, I was riding my bike, and I swerved into a wall (i still do that - the things that stay with you into adulthood, eh?) and my blistered finger dragged along the wall. There was blood, tears and then a scar. This was also an interesting exercise in as much as I learnt that tears could often result in a comforter in the shape of new toys...which suddenly added a whole new dimension to my childhood.

Have one scar from boxing days around my eyes...one on the eyelid. one on the brow which is 1 inch long, and pretty much ended my love of boxing as it would contiuously split...when the headguard caught it.

But the best one is from a pub shooting, which went into my forearm, and hit my elbow joint and out, leaving a bigger than 50 pence hole/scar by my elbow...but luckilly no damage to the bone.

Re: There's a scar man waiting in the

I've got 4 little scars on my face from a dog bite. Like Bazza, they wouldn't have shown but for the hopeless butterfly stitches they used.

I've got a lump on the back of my head from when I fell off a roundabout in the sixth form . Lots of blood, but a tiny cut. I'm really suprised it's still there.

I've got lots of little knocks and scrapes, but my finest of all is from when I grabbed a boat trailer to stop my brother throwing me in the sea. Unfortunately there was a long rusty screw just where I grabbed! The result is a nice scar just over an inch long, between my thumb and forefinger. I can still recall the feeling of the tugon my forearm muscle, though I was pretty lucky not to cut any tendons.
