No. I see the arguments for doing it, but I reckon you're just as likely to get your car scratched by someone who thinks you're an arse if you do it.
Besides, I'm far too polite to do such a thing.

No, I think people who do are inconsiderate, so I would never do it myself.

Yes I do. I think people who do are considerate. They care about their own and other peoples cars!

I also have it good authority that the standard car parking space size has not altered for years. Therefore as cars get bigger (they invariably do) they have to squeeze into smaller spaces making scratches, (oyah!) screeves, (eek!)and dents ($%*"!) almost inevitable.

No I don't as a rule.

But I have to confess that I always park well away from other cars if possible..... Sometimes in airport car parks I park in the last row.....

Maybe I need professional help....

Aha! won't vote tho'.

What you all need to know about Will is that he even takes up two spaces at Alfaowner meets . Basically, he's just not a nice guy

I don't, but I will avoid narrow spaces.

Mmmm me too. Having suffered enough with dings in the door panels I always park in places that are well away from other cars. At the supermarket i have favorite places that i use just for that reason. My wife thinks this is excessively sad. I never take up two spaces because it only encourages the 4x4 owners who try and take up 3 spaces.

Also if you really believe strongly enough that your place in the car park is waiting for you, it will be there.... spooky but true

I do need professional help

I try not to park close to any other cars, anyway with an alfa`s turning circle it get`s to be quite a job parking one of them

I try to park far from other cars. I like 3door cars, but i hate to open the large door in supermarket parking lots

Haha! I was going to lie but I remembered that there are witnesses hereabouts.
Yep! I am soooo considerate I even take up two spaces at Alfa meets, just in case my missus opens her door and the wind catches it and dunts Fraser/Mr O/Roswell et al in a domino effect. No fear of Will's Gt being the cause of car park dinks.
Any chance of a Blue Peter badge and cigar?

Hey, that's right, blame it on Susan . Besides, if a gust of wind did catch the door at least it would be restrained by the adjacent car instead of being ripped off it's hinges .

I don't know if they do a Blue Peter Badge for insufficiently-lateral thinking

Re: Do You Ever Take Up Two Spaces In A Car Park?

don't do it, & can't stand people who do. Either they can't park properly (in that case get off the road!), or they're just to lazy/incorsiderate to bother, it really annoys me.

Re: Do You Ever Take Up Two Spaces In A Car Park?

I do it, but only if the car park has loads of free spaces and that I know it wont fill up i.e An evening after 6pm at Bluewater where there a 4 million free spaces.

My reason is that the 155 is probably the most easy dent alfa ever made - my dads 1969 Spider can and has taken more punishment over the years (mainly from me dropping stuff on/in to it!! ) and withstood most of it

Re: Do You Ever Take Up Two Spaces In A Car Park?

Agree with Bazza, just as likely to have your car targeted hogging two spaces. Generally when parking I;

- Never park next to cars with baby seats.
- Never park next to old cars that show signs of neglect.
- Try and park in a space that only has a space on one side and get tight in.
- If possible park in an empty bit if car park but not too far away.

Please read all of above! And I love everybody even clowns who don't take up two spaces and park so close I can't get out!

Re: Do You Ever Take Up Two Spaces In A Car Park?

Looks like we might be forced to take up two spaces soon. In the Daily Express today: local hospital managers asked to increase number of car-parking spaces-Solution? They reduced the size of the existing spaces with the result that nobody can open their car doors! I was simply ahead of the game!
How's that for forward (if not lateral) thinking, Mr Edward de (Fraser) Bono?

Cigar in the post noo then?
