Re: Is Your Car Debadged?

I can see why some might want to debadge their (insert lesser marque here), but why would anyone intentionally debadge an Alfa? Would you debadge a Ferrari?

Re: Is Your Car Debadged?

i have just done it to mine as i had to. .....had an accident whilst polishing it today

polishing cloth caught the k on the t spark and pulled it off......looked at it a bit closer and noticed that it has broken off a part of the letter so rather than ride about with an incomplete badge......i have taken the badges off the back

*edit*....not the alfa badge.....the silver tspark, 1.8 and 156 badges

Yes.(not the Alfa badges though!)

Had the cars resprayed, but would have had them removed anyway as part of the Anonymous look

Re: Is Your Car Debadged?

Mine is completely debadged front and rear.No logos, words or badges. The bonnet bulge where the badge go on the 147 bonnet is cut out, flattened and rewelded too to give a smooth look.I hate badges and logos.I like the bodywork to be smooth and debadged.

Yes, because the badging on the back of 156s is grim and untidy.

Yes, my 156 is debadged

Reason: the previous owner did it.

Yes theres an indentation on the tail gate door if you take off the badge, you will have to weld on a plate or use body filler on it and respray the rear. The 1.6 litre twinspark is just glued on and has no indentations behind them.Take them off and wipe over with a cloth and some petrol to get rid of the glue residue.

The front of the car will look crap if you only take off the badge, unless you cut the front bulge of the bonnet away and reweld it back together have it re-curved to suit the rest of the vonnet.

Like this bonnet and rear arse of a 147.

Re: Is Your Car Debadged?

the previous owner of the 147 had taken the 2.0 T spark off i don't have any strong opinions either way but i suppose it keeps people guessing

My 1.6 is with all the badges and a cloverleaf. I'm proud of this little 1.6.

The 1.6 and T-Spark badges are not connected(as far as I can remember) so you can take one or the other off or both.Just go and look at the back of your car and you will see.

Re: Is Your Car Debadged?

If by 'debaged' you are only refering to removal of badges other than the Alfa Romeo (round) badge , front and rear, then the answer is yes.

In general badges do nothing for the car and are a real pain to clean and polish/wax around ..they are also tempting for "street turds" , who tend to remove them with a sharp object, leaving extra scratches in the paint .

Re: Is Your Car Debadged?

I de-badged the 147 from the left of the tailgate of my GTA and added the 3.2 V6 logo from a GTV. I like it a lot more than the 147 logo but it could be considered a bit cluttered, I'll post a pic tomorrow.

Re: Is Your Car Debadged?

No........99% of the population don't know what a Selespeed is anyway so it adds an extra bit of exclusivity.

IMO the 156 on the left and Selespeed on the right look well balanced

Re: Is Your Car Debadged?

No, but mine came only with the "bertie" badges on the flanks and GT on the boot lid. later UK cars have GT-TD or something and it clutters the back end up.

Re: Is Your Car Debadged?

NO. If it came into my hands with it , I leave it. Unless the badge got damaged, then I would remove it.
The AR badges has to be there, front and rear. After all, I am proud to be an Alfa owner.
I take off any stickers/dealership logos though. I hate stickers unless a company pays for my car, I will not advertise........
My Sud has a very small "alfasud" and "1,5" vynil badge on the tailgate, but they originally had a huge "ALFA ROMEO" logo accross the whole lid, which looked [email protected]
I also smoothed the number plate "indentation" as per Paddy's post, because I also wanted the "smooth" look on the tailgate.
The Alfasud badge is so small, I still get people that ask me : What car is that ?
