Re: Educating?

Oh dear...did usual school and stayed on a year, then off to college for three years and two different subjects.....then worked for about ten years before starting again. Have been studying for various vocational qualifications for the past 4 or 5 years....best is to come. I start a three and a half year degree course next week

Re: Educating?

Left after 6th form college and A levels.Hated studying.Have always found relvant job related learning far more beneficial to be frank.
I think education is an ongoing process and doesn`t have to fit within the boundaries of an academic environment. We all learn in different ways.
I have learnt an enormous amount just through a varied career through selling in both the manufacturing and construction industry.
So I ticked other.Every one of my 35 years has, taught me something.I`m just not always very good at remembering what.

Every day is a school day. Primary, secondary, university, then, what is endearingly called 'Continuing Professional Development' in our trade .

Re: Educating?

Primary, secondary, university too. We also have something called "Continuous Professional Development" but I didn't count with that. And I didn't count the other studies I've made in between. That would easily make more then 20 years.

Re: Educating?

I spent the standard eleven years at school followed by four years day release and one year full time at technical college.

Re: Educating?

School from 4 - 18, then Poly for 2 years(though I spent more time in bed or the pub). Inevitably left Poly without a qualification, so then spent from 1998 to date (on and off) doing part time stuff. I should have just finished, but due to big life changes, have put off the last bit for another year. I'll start again in September!

Re: Educating?

I'm afraid to say this but the diploma doesn't worth much. The knowledge yes, it's everything.

But we all know how it works...

Re: Educating?

Primary, secondary, university - 17 years together. Thinking about doing PhD while I am still young. 10 years later, it will be much more difficult.....
