Ever stepped on a ....

NAIL...

not that nail that grows on humans and some animals, but those metal thingys that are usually used to keep wooden structures intact....

and with stepping on I mean so that the nail has penetrated your skin including blood spilling out (optionally guts too)

Re: Ever stepped on a ....

Yup

I was working, during the summer break when I was at college, at a fresh fish shop

I walked through the yard at the back which was full of old broken fish boxes and I stepped on a piece of wood with a nail in it

The nail went right through and out the top of my shoe.........

I had to lift my foot and whack the wood down with my hand to get it out.......nearly feinted

Put me on my back for a fortnight.

Of course in those days there were no safety boots

Just think of the compensation I could sue for nowadays

Almost...

I once stood on a pin which was upright in the carpet and it snapped in the sloe of my foot.

Re: Ever stepped on a ....

Not the foot, but once fell off a step-ladder, put my hands out outomatically to break my fall and a 6 inch nail went through my palm. It didn`t break the skin on the back of my hand so I had a big skin 'tent'

It didn`t bleed much until we pulled it out, then *spurt*

I'm feeling quite ill now

My wife stood on a bundle of acacia thorns when we stayed in Botswana. Acacia thorns break of in groups so that a thorn is always upright. She was wearing new slip-on open toed shoes and I had to cut the shoe off to get the thorn out her foot. Photo of acacia thorns to be posted later for effect.

Once had a rusty 6-inch nail stick in my foot (not the whole 6 -inches luckily) This was in our barn (sort of a barn anyway) which had a horse in it.

Didn't quite get the roll part right, just kind of crumpled and kneed myself in the head

Bazza, for your own sake, even at the cost of our own amusement, stop telling us stories of how you've bumped and hit your head before.
