Double Decker

Now most of us will have eaten a Cadbury's Double Decker at some point in our lives (they have been around for decades).

Double Deckers have a hard, crispy base with a nougatine topping and are covered in chocolate but (and here is the hot poll topic) DIDN`T THEY USED TO HAVE RAISINS IN THE BASE?

It driving me nuts <sic>.

No there were never any raisins in them. I would never have eaten them if they had raisins. Always reminded me too much of rabbit droppings......

But, Mr GC, you are still a young fella. I think they have been around for so long that they may have snuck the raisins out before you grew teeth

...Old Jamaica...or, as the old pirate used to say in the ad., Ol' Jamaiceee....and don't 'e knock it all back at once....ahaaaaarrghhhh!!...Jim m'lad etc, etc.

Now that definitely had raisins in. And something vaguely approximating the taste of rum .

Re: Double Decker

*Bump*

Its level pegging - that wont win the bet at work

PS I remeber Old jamacia too - a bit too powerfully flavoured for my taste. Aztec bars were delicious but must have been poisenous to kids or something as they only lasted 12 months.

How do you know all this then? Do you have the "I Spy book of Chocolate Bars"

And I'm sure Double Deckers never had raisins in them

I don;t remember them having raisins in the base, and we're going back to very early 80s here. However, that won't win the bet either so i voted 'off course'.

Shouldn't be too difficult to remember - they still make it!

I used to remember Freddos from when I was about 5, then didn't see them for about 25 years! I hope they never go away again!

Re: Double Decker

I bought a Double Decker when they first came out.

They definitely and beyond any doubt had raisins in the base.
