Re: Ever driven a Lotus Elise?

It was a bit like trying to tame a lion.

I was lucky enough to get a shot of a heavly modified one, 190 bhp. So what that leaves at bhp per ton is anyones guess. Anyway if you like visiting the dentist for new fillings then get one.

Re: Ever driven a Lotus Elise?

yes, sadly didn't get chance to cane it as it was i wasn't overly impressed, if i could have got some decent miles in down a back road i'm sure it would have been a different story!

Re: Ever driven a Lotus Elise?

I must warn you they are very uncomfortable and you will get a sore bum cause the seats ate like the plastic ones you got at school, the ride is very very very stiff. On a better note, mine has the 135 throttle body and a stainless steel exhaust and gets to 60 in under 5 seconds.
Looking for some good info check out www.seloc.co.uk and for some good ones for sale www.pistonheads.co.uk

Re: Ever driven a Lotus Elise?

A couple of times. There was one in the garage I used to work in. Although there was something loose in the engine bay so it sounded like a tin of nails. Fast though.
Injured myself getting in and out of it each time.

Re: Ever driven a Lotus Elise?

No - but have driven a VX220 quite a bit when my son's not looking.

Great drive - very easy but raw and exciting when you want it to be. 10/10 and it looks miles better than the Lotus as well.

Re: Ever driven a Lotus Elise?

No, but I voted other as I'm not about it. I went to look at one and walked away, I understand they're supposed to be all about driving but I didn't want to even get in it.

Maybe I should drive one to see what all the fuss is about, but even if they are THAT good I couldn't buy one.

Re: Ever driven a Lotus Elise?

No but My dad owned a VX220 for a while. I was quite dissapointed with it, although my car at the time was a TVR

Before my dad bought it he owned a Fiat coupe Turbo plus, and he wished he hadn't sold it and bought the vauxhall.

I know what you mean mate, If I bought one it'd be solely for track days and it'd get trailered there and back.

it looks nice from the outside but from the inside, well, it's nothing special, that's a good reason why I love TVR's but I can't justify buying and maintaining and running one just yet.
