I prefer to drive in thin-soled trainers, like Pumas or Converse All-stars. If I try to drive in clumpy shoes or boots, like Cats or suchlike, I feel like a right clumsy oaf.

I've not got any proper driving shoes but I've been close to buying a pair of the black Pumas that look like real driving boots a few times.

Like Roswell, whatever I have on my feet. I'd feel a bit of a prune having to change my shoes after driving to Glasgow or Edinburgh for a site meeting

Why ?? Wouldn't the *working* shoes that you put on you just as you got out of the car still be nice and shiney & not smelly ... sthink about it

Re: Driving Footwear

Yup..... I drive in shoes... can't be asked to change between driving and walking.

I have a colleague at work who last week had a 2Lt. 156 JTS as a hire car (and it was red!)

He didn't like it "cause the pedals were too close together"

Having looked at his feet I asked him what his "dream" car was???

"a 2.4L Diesel Ford Transit" was his reply

Say no more.............

Re: Driving Footwear

TBH I can see why people might as well. But I think my throttle/brake/clutch control is pretty good anyway (say's him in a not-big-headed way at all).

Re: Driving Footwear

I don't change footwear just to drive! I drive with normal shoes everyday but, when I go out just for a drive, yes, I get the pumas on.

Re: Driving Footwear

Again, whatever is on my feet at the time (found that Birkenstock sandals don't work so well, tho!) But since I started trying to learn LFB and heel and toe i've realised that the shoes do make a difference....thin trainers with rubber soles, for preference.....I might actually check out these puma speedcats....

Re: Driving Footwear

Speedcats in the elise, normal shoes (or the speedcats) for the alfa.

I leave my work shoes at work and drive in everyday (elise) in my speedcats.

I also have some o'niel shoes which are driving shoe shaped and look a bit more fashionable than the "slipper" speedcats.
