Re: Better saga?

Rings gets my vote.
The last two(or is that the first two?) Star Wars was poor (Phantom & Clones) in my opinion.

Re: Better saga?

I think the question that is to be answered is better than WHAT ?????

Both these films are Good versus evil tales. The Lord of the Ring being an enviromental protest and Star wars .... well good versus evil.

Both are entertaining enough in their own way, but neither are great films especially compared to films such as "The Seventh Seal" for example.

Lord of the Rings...AKA a tedious plod across the land scape

Star Wars ...aka Star bores

Re: Better saga?

Lord of the Rings is an amazing work and word for word far superior than the Star Wars series however on the big screen there can be little competition and the Star Wars series wins hands down (with the exception of the first two prequels so far!)
I didn't want to be awkward but you have a habit of posting difficult polls!!!!

Yes I'm sure... one of them must be better than the other in your opinion... just must... they can't be 100% equally good... that is impossible

Well IMHO one was a little simple and the other was cut too much to make much sense

O.K. Lord of the Rings in the Extended, non theatrical release, is the best

Re: Better saga?

Peter jackson should have made the LOTR page by page and let sad people like me take a tent and sleeping bag and enough food for a week so we could see it in perfection.
They should have used more dialogue in LOTR lifted directly from the book. Tokien wrote such beautiful, poetic English. whenver i read the book now I find myself reading sentences over and over to take in the sheer elegance of his prose.

Yes Master Yoga

LOTR is way too long. The ending of the no2 was like waiting.... waiting.... waiting for it to end

So SW (original) has my vote as I like the Alfa 156 SW too

Nope.
They are both equally dull.

Cannonball Run is far far better than Cannonball Run II for instance.
That's easy. But these two are both equally crap. Star Wars was OK - but I was about 6 when I saw it and easily impressed.

Re: Better saga?

Sorry - are we talking the latest prequels to SWs or the original

I need to know and I'm being lazy by not looking up this thread

I was referring to the original SWs not the new ones so much in my last post

Re: Better saga?

LOTR, by a smidgin. But I'm a bit frightened to say coz there are far too many intellectuals giving a negative opinion. I mean, how can these films compete with Ingrid Bergmanzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......
