Freecycle or Freegle?

Just wondered, do any of you Freecycle or Freegle your unwanted items, or does this sound like gobbledygook?

Freegle.

Freecycle was ok, then Yahoo realised they were sh*t at making money and tried to wring a few quid out of freecycle, hence them shifting to freegle.

Horses for courses, it is the human experience, in general the people you will meet are genuine, pleasant and helpful. Watch for the usual sharks, don't be discouraged by idiots and try and make a difference!

We replaced a downstairs loo, had to drag it to the tip & could not be arsed, banged it on freegle, 4 hours later a lovely couple picked it up a gave us 6 free range eggs as a thank you!

No 2 on the Git list

Are you folding?

Have shifted odd bits on Freecycle. Not for some time though so didn't realise anything had changed. What have Yahoo done??

The way I understood it was that there was a disagreement between the guy who set freecycle up (overall management and wanting to make money on the back of people's recycling generosity I think) and a number of (mostly non-US) Freecycle list owners. Some effectively took the whole of their groups across to a new group called Freegle that (from what I gather on a management/control level) is closer to the original concept. Some Freecycle groups have also been opened up afresh and some people sit in both camps.

As far as I'm aware it has nothing whatsoever to do with Yahoo trying to make money.

The update we had (a long while ago) probably explained it better but you know how it is reading long e-mails.

Still use 'em and would recommend.
