Presumably we are voting for the player who put in
the best performance over the four matches that we
played at the Euros rather than who we think is the
best player England had available.

How can anyone vote for Rooney other than
someone who didn't watch it

Should have been a public poll.

I hate to say..........Terry was excellent.

I have to admit Terry did well.

Even Johnson did better than expected.

Overall, I'd give it Gerrard. He looked a bit weary towards the end, maybe the other games took it out of him.

Young, Milner, Parker, even Rooney - total waste of space throughout. Maybe a bit harsh on Parker but he isn't good enough at this level.

I've gone for Glen Johnson,Gerrard had a very tournament and I thought Andy Carroll did well too.....which as an LFC fan is bl--dy infuriating given their performances for their club last season.

Serious question........apart from a couple of floated crosses.........what was in the 'plus' column for Gerrard exactly? I've said what I didn't like...........but what was he good at?

I think he was never given the freedom to roam, @ Liverpool he is everywhere but under Hodgsons style of play Gerrard spent more time chasing the ball. Maybe he was one of the players that caused Hodgsons demise @ l'pool and Roy was making him look bad on purpose, paybacks a 8itch conspiracy theory time.

Johnson - far better than expected
Lescott - exactly what was expected
Gerrard - stop doing those ****ing 60 yard passes
Hart - exactly what was expected
Rooney - off the pace
Terry - heroics following being caught out
Walcott - surpised as I was when he scored
Welbeck - lots of promise.
Milner - I love him but he was disappointing to say the least
Parker - **** haircut. Whines like a girl.
Young. Bit disappointing

I think that leaves me with Ashley Cole. I know he missed a penalty but, as always, he didn't do much else wrong. Mr Consistency.

Voted Hart because I couldn't decide who to go for and decided he was decent enough. I think that's the biggest encouragement and disappointment of it all - no-one really was outstanding.

Can't vote for Terry because, though he was generally good, his lack of pace and poor positioning gave opportunities that shouldn't have been (fortunately the other 3 at the back had pace to cover).

Johnson was my biggest surprise and Lescott avoided being over-awed. Cole was alright.

Welbeck was a pleasant continuation from a good season. Young showed some flashes early on but his influence began to fade from about half-time in the first game (not helped by the style of play).

The Ox looked like he wasn't over-awed and Walcott also had some positive influence, but neither really played enough for serious consideration.

Oh and Carroll scored a good header and also had a few moments but again his influence was about what was expected (those few moments apart). Having said that, he was one of our better front players... eek! Still wouldn't have taken Crouch instead though.
