Moaning BMW vs. Alfa

Let's test loyalty....

If you were given now the opportunity to get any current production Alfa Romeo or BMW .... which one would you take?

To avoid these "I'd take a BMW and then sell it"-j3rk5, let's say there's a rule that you couldn't sell the car ever!

also I hope to see what model you'd take (post it below )

GT 3.2 for me too. Red with tan leather, obvious choice but looks goooooood.

Re: BMW vs. Alfa

If someone gave me the money then either a 645 or M5 - I'm a true Alfa man but I could be led a stray by one of those beasts.

But if it was my own money then a 3.2 V6 GT.

Re: BMW vs. Alfa

Either the 3.2GT - (although I would like to see the 2.4JTD in the GT) or I'll stick with what I've got ;-)

Simon.

Re: BMW vs. Alfa

Either the GT 3.2 or 166 V6 - probably the GT as first choice.

I'm afraid I cant stand the styling of any of the latest BMWs..... It would be nice to own a rear wheel drive car again but I cant say I definitely prefer it to front wheel drive.... and BMWs are far too common. Alfas are far more exclusive.

Re: BMW vs. Alfa

If everything else remained the same too,ie my salary and the car still had to be my only car for business use aswell,as much as I like Alfas,BMW do the one car I would ever need and that would be the new 535d Touring.
Might even pip myAccord Tourer.
That and the M5 are the only Beemers I can make a excuse for.
If it could be my second car I`d have a black or Stromboli grey GT 3.2.

Practicality wise 156 GTA, but for fun definately the 3.2 GT

Re: BMW vs. Alfa

Tough one really.
I love Alfas, but the current range has nothing that really grabs me, and if we were talking money no object, I think I would get a lot of pleasure from a new M5.

Or an M3 CSL.

Or a 535d Touring.

Or a 316 saloon with no badge on it which I would save just for turning up at AO and AROC meetings.

Yes - I have heard that. The headroom lacks in the back though and I found it hard to get into ... but I guess that shouldn't matter if your driving

Re: BMW vs. Alfa

While I'm not fussy on the back end, my choice would have to be a BWM 6 series. It's got a real-sized engine, power at the right end, and at least I could get it serviced here.
