I can't believe I'm the only one listing a 45. Nobody got any 7" singles?

Re: Oldest music medium you possess and still use?

I have a very old radio from my Grandfather. A Grundig with 44 years old. Still working fine.

That's the same radio from here I started to hear SW radio stations. I used to hear a radio from Moscow, that had a also a couple of hours in Portuguese. We (me and the people from the radio station) started to write and we keept that for a long time. That's what also made me dream about visiting Moscow some day.

Dear all... We are talking about music medium (something that stores music) ... Radio is not one of them (unless it has a Tape etc... slot)

Idea Re: Oldest music medium you possess and still use?

Radio isn't a medium you can own. Unless you somehow capture the radio waves in a big jar and only let them out when you feel like having a boogie.

I voted CD anyway, but i only really use MD's, CD's and MP3's (or equivalent)

The lp player in the corner. Only really gets used around christmas time after a few festive drinks. That's when the Jose Feliciano records come out and we have a good laugh.

Couldn't answer 45 AND LP. Have about 150 45's!! and 50-odd LPs. Recently got my old record deck (Garrard SP25 Mk V circa 1977!) working again with my newish TEAC hi-fi system. Needed a new drive belt and cable adapter made up. The stylus was in pretty good nick considering the age!!!

Our kids are a bit surprised at some of the music we have but in the most part they seen to like 1970's stuff!! Have replaced a lot of the better LPs with their CD equivalent.

I can still play cassettes in the 156, but I've only got a couple worth listening to and one of those is now on CD!!!

cheers, Gary

Cassettes! What those things that were constantly chewing-up (even though you Isoprophyl (sic?) cleaned the heads not a couple of weeks ago..

Actually, it was rather good quality medium.

I use MD for the car.

Natural sounding, wide bandwith vinyl at home
