Re: Little Britain

Saw a couple of episodes thought it was great, have borrowed series one on DVD from a friend and it's funny but watching them back to back i've noticed they don't change much from week to week.

Re: Little Britain

Is it not the baldy guy from the old Shooting Stars dressed as a women all the time?

George Daws was funny with Vic Reeves and Co but I'm not sure about Little Britain, bit too weird for me.

The first one I saw I liked, pretty funny.
Same jokes week after week though.

Re: Little Britain

A couple of classic sketches/characters but too much of it is irritating & simply not funny.

I'll second that. Although that statement applies to most comedy IMO. Not just Little Britain.

Re: Little Britain

It's ok but when you have seen each of the characters in a few situations that's it - it just becomes a variation of the same joke.

A poor excuse for a parade of catch-phrases.

Re: Little Britain

I think that 'Little Britain' is a sharp observational parody of life in Britain, using well known social stereotypes, but twisting them in a way that is both bizarre and slightly surreal.

On the face of it the formula is a very simple one, and not very different from the Fast Show in terms of its repetition of the same character situations. The episodic nature of each sketch within the show allows you to get to know the characters as the weeks go by enabling you to join in the joke. For example, Its the expectation and anticipation of what Andy Pitkin (the wheelchair bloke) will get up to next that makes it so funny, and not just that they are parodying disability in a way that is funny without being cruel or discriminatory.

I laugh my ******** off most of the time, but its not easy viewing, and I can't always sit it out.

It makes 'My Family' look a pie of poo, and I like Robert Lindsay..even if he did run off and marry Rosemary Ford, who I always fancied like mad

My fav comedy of all time has to be 'Father Ted' though. I just love it to bits. Its so beautifully written.
