Re: Favourite Engine Poll

Would add it in Hugo, but I don't think you can edit a Pole can you?.
Was thinking of including a Bike Engine, but I don't know much about them.
Have to admit though, the Ducati's sound good, much better than those Jap screamers.

Re: Favourite Engine Poll

Ones done, it's done Mitch. But no problem, there's the Alfa v6 in your poll!

I really don't know any other bike engine that sounds so good as the Ducati.

Re: Favourite Engine Poll

Best I ever heard was a Bugatti straight eight, sounded even better when the supercharger was engaged, also looked the best a kind of sculpture. (BRM V16 and Alfetta straight eight also sound good too).

I could add the AM V8 secretly to the poll and ask you why on earth you had chosen 'other'

Re: Favourite Engine Poll

I choose the V12 of a ferrari (especially the ones with carburetors). I don't think I ever will own a Ferrari but the sound really gives me goosebumps.

The Alfa V6 is on second spot for me.

I am not interested in any of the other engines.

Heres yer engine boys,it may be from a train but 2 of these at 1650bhp each= 3300 bhp in a loco weighing 99 tons, considering it's 1960's technology thats very impressive
....2 strokes n'all..........no valves!,opposed pistons.......madness

It has to be the Ducati engine, when heard from trackside it always makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Re: Favourite Engine Poll

My favourite engine is one that develops good power, revs freely, sounds good, does not consume much oil and fuel and is reliable

Re: Favourite Engine Poll

OK Wrinx, or Hans, add the Ducati Engine in, it looks like it might be a popular choice.
Was obvious the V6 would be favourite here....

Re: Favourite Engine Poll

How could it be any thing other than the AlfaV6?

Incidentally, I seem to remember Desmodromic was something clever to do with valve trains on the Ducati engine, any one know anymore?

Check the Ducati website, Cheradmine. You'll find the info about it there.
