My vote has gone to Vespa T5's Sud TI. Reason being it was a close contest between his Sud and my Sprint so I wish him well in the final

Re: AO Car of the Year 2008: THE FINAL

Wow, really tough one this year.

All the cars are credits to their owners Best of luck everyone!

The GTA and the GTV are both great looking cars, but the 147GTA, owned by Cul gets my vote by the narrowest of margins!

Re: AO Car of the Year 2008: THE FINAL

Here's mine representing the GTV/Spider!

The car in question is a 1999 (V) 3.0 v6 24v with a factory aerokit.

Since buying her I've resprayed it in the original Vela Blue, refurbished the wheels, fitted pirellis all round, and fitted a few tasteful bits and pieces (i.e autodelta J10 splitter)

It's a daily driver, not a trophy piece, and I certainly open her up occasionally!

Re: AO Car of the Year 2008: THE FINAL

Tough competition, my shortlist was GT, Brera, GTV and 1750, but the 1750 wins the day; it's easy to make a modern car cool

1993 Alfa 155 Q4

Re: AO Car of the Year 2008: THE FINAL

So who will vote for the rarest Alfa in the comp?

Some details on it:
1993 Alfa 155 Q4, 2.0L 16V Turbo 4WD

Bought as a project and gently modified with 17" OZ SuperTurismos, powder coated white. Lowered 35mm with Eibach springs, and now Koni Yellow adjustable shocks all round.
Chipped with a squadra, plus a decat it is supposed to be pushing approximately 250 horses and 350Nm of torque.
It has a few more subtle mods and more info can be found on my site: Cloverleaf4.co.uk - Alfa Romeo 155 Q4

Here are some higher-res pics:

Thumbs Up Re: AO Car of the Year 2008: THE FINAL

When I first saw the curves of the Brera, I lusted after it - and after a drive I knew I wanted to own one, but I was a little disappointed with the performance. Jano, at Autodelta, put together a personal choice of modifications called the J5 that are very much in the same style of the original design, and adds handling and power that still keeps the car an Alfa to drive (supercharger, suspension, wheels, exhaust, small body mods, etc).

What you end up with is something that has a 0-60 of 5.1 seconds, corners like on rails, and sounds like the devil himself is growling in your ear-hole (go to 4mins 25sec at YouTube - alfaowner.com Surrey Dash 20th April 08 ) - but, and this is a big but, is modified in the way that Alfa Romeo could be proud of.
