In order that we might kill the droopy nose question can we have a nice picture of the correct model Maser in a nice colour?

There are some nice ones on www.MafiaHitmanAccessories.com

Isn't that Ned's GTA?

How cool is a 156 with an Italian plate?

I like QP 410 HP too.

By a hair. The Maser has it. In my humble and totally useless opinion.

In my not in the least humble but even more useless opinion, the Alfa has it, by a wig.

I used to think it was the headlights, but I think it's the bumper that's my main turn-off for the pre-facelift 156. I still think the 159 should have been here instead!

The car I've got (156) vs the car I'd like!

One of my neighbours has a Maser like this. It is a beautifully put together design, but seems a bit too flash for my liking.

I prefer a car to be slightly less ostentatious, with a subtle understated beauty that isn't screaming for attention.

That's why I voted for the 156.

(Absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I drive one )

Nah. You've barely even mentioned the 159 not making the cut. Or if you have, it's been overshadowed by the least appealing version of the QP being perilously close to overall victory

Are there plans for other similar polls? I realise I missed the initial "suggestions" thread (sad, but I'd have even suggested the Rover 75...) as we could have estate/shooting brake or hatchback winners... or the random idea I thought of would be to do big brother-little brother (so BMW 3 v 5 v 7, Mito v Giulietta v 159 or Giulia, Audi A5 v A7) ok, so some would be "least worst options" but I want an excuse to say how stupid the A7 looks compared to the A5...

I did the first WCOC a couple of years ago but it's quite time consuming so it'll probably be a while before I do it again.

If you want to do the Audi one I'm happy to vote against the A7.

I must have missed the earlier one. Had a suspicion it wasn't a 5-minute job! I will sort out my work first then see what I can conjure up...

Office Chair.

Talking Fixed.

Definite referendum. I was busy holidaying then working and missed the Maser vote. This is fixed because it is an Alfa forum and Russians voted.

I did see a pale met blue 156 under a clear plastic cover just this week being fixed (it is an Alfa after all). Looked bloomin lovely under that cover and what a colour.

It was the perfect rear I was viewing not the ugly front end though

I suspect on any other forum the QP would have been the clear winner. I do like the 156 but it's a bit like comparing a box cart to a golden chariot.

The Maserati's main advantage is that it says Maserati on it. I imagine that if Ferrari made a dodgy looking saloon car, it would have won easily.

I disagree. The 156 was built to a reasonably stringent budget and it shows against the Maserati - it looks boxy and linear whereas the QP is flowing and organic. It isn't the prettiest Maserati but the 156 isn't the prettiest Alfa either.

But it is the prettiest Alfa saloon*, and although the Maser is more expensive and looks it, it is not prettier.

imo

*obvs even prettier in SW version.

I do like the 156 very much but it just isn't in the same league as the QP. Outclassed.

Completely disagree.

You can see the QP costs more, that doesn't make it better looking.

Maybe this is just me, but (for example) I find the original Mini far more aesthetically pleasing than (for example) most modern Bentleys or Rollers. I can see they cost huge money, but they are crass, tasteless and ugly.
