I want it to be the Maserati but it has to be the Jag.

I think we've established by now that I like Jags. I especially like this one and Jaguar clearly did too because they spent the next 40 years either copying it or trying to improve it without success.

I don't like this QP. Or more correctly, I don't like the front foot or so of it. The headlights look Japanese and the grille looks like it belongs on one of those weird Japanese luxo-barges. As there's not an angle on the Jag I don't like, it's no contest for me.

This is defficult, because I do like the Masder* and I prefer the later Jags which slim down that grille a little.

*That was for you keithyboy.

Or if your vote brings a tie/breaks a tie?

If it helps, the current Jag grille is similar in concept to the S1. It doesn't have the big chrome surround that everything from the SII to the X350 had. It's more subtle and restrained.

The Maserati has a whiff of Janet Street-Porter in the grille department.

It's an interesting observation though that I love the current Jag grille, which you're right, is clearly based on the S1 - yet I'm saying here it seems too big.

What a hypocrite.

it looks 'melted' ffs

I like a wind up with the best of them, but if the answer to "best looking saloon" is that, then I'm not sure we read the question with sufficient care...

I strongly suspect some interference from a Russian troll farm.

Well it isn't is it? But it's not either of these cars, so it's a bit of a moot point.

I think one of them could be.

The Maserati is here because of what it is not what it looks like. If looked identical but the badges said Mazda, or Infiniti, or Lexus, it wouldn't warrant a mention.

Maser for me. I'd give up my 156 for one if I could afford it. Jag just doesn't float my boat.
