Easy one for me. I think the SI is the best looking XJ. Slim pillars, restrained use of chrome, muscular shape that hints that it packs a bit of wallop. The SIII is the one Iíd want to own. It is the epitomy of grace, space and pace. The SII falls between the two. Itís far from ugly but they raised the height of the bumper, presumably for some sort of crash protection cobblers, then filled the gap underneath with a grille that isnít all that neat.

Sorry if I missed it somewhere, are these the LWB, SWB or either that we're considering?

The SII was only available in LWB for a couple of years and there was no LWB option for the SIII as far as I'm aware.

Go with your heart.

I just think it's a fix to get a Jag through ;-)

And don't you mean the SII was only available in SWB for a couple of years? Or is this a case of I'm taking Wikipedia falsely at face value?

I do mean that. Well spotted.

Similarly, the SIII was only available in the one (longer) wheelbase.

I think total production for all models from 1945 to date is about 14 cars. Of these, 10 are still owned by Bristol themselves. Periodically they take them back to the factory, paint them a different colour, and claim them to be a new model.

Their latest folly, after their most recent episode of going financially **** up, was the Bullet. Which is hideous. It was unveiled in 2016 with production due to start in 2017. Answers on a postcard to the question of whether production actually started in 2017.
