I'm going for Raging Bull here.
I saw it at the Leicester Square Odeon when it first came out, and it was one of the most (warning trendy buzz word alert) visceral cinematic experiences I ever had. De Niro and Scorsese at their best.

I sat through RB on the flight back from Tokyo last week just for WCoF.
Boxing, wiseguys and wifebeatings. In B&W during the 80s? No thanks.

StarWars hold great memories but is just whimsy.

Matrix was a great film and major game-changer. And I am a big SciFi fan.
But even I know good SciFi cannot deliver great, enduring classics like
Where Eagles Dare.

Burton, Eastwood and a snare drum intro: Back of the net.

Where eagles dare for me. I've never seen Star Wars all the way through. I thought Raging Bull was overly long and the Matrix is just not my cup of tea.

I do like Where Eagles Dare and it's arguably better scripted, shot and acted but it can't compare to the raw excitement experienced when I first saw Star Wars.

I have not seen any of them - they looked so boring.

Star wars - some of our children and their cousins, now in their 30's and 40's rave about them however.

I saw Star Wars when I was 10 - it had the greatest effect on me. More than any other film ever, before or since. Why isn't it the best? Cos I was 10. Cos it's daft.

I love it - but it's a daft film for kids.

The Driver with Rynan O'Neal had the same effect on me at a similar age. I've watched it since and realised that it was rubbish and nobody in it could act.

Mark Hamill must be so p'd that he had to literally age himself 40 years before he'd get another role on a blockbuster movie.

I'd like to send De Niro round to punch some sense into the electorate and declare Raging Bull the winner....

.... but maybe a penalty shoot out is the way forward?

Good idea! Can the powers that be re-open the poll for 24 hrs to see if that results in a clear group winner?
