Should AO technical area have a Fiat section?

I was thinking... Many Alfaowner members also like Fiats or own then as second cars, should we have a Fiat section the the technical area?

The Fiat forums in my experience are not anywhere near as good as AO, and many Fiat cars are mechanically similar to Alfa's.

Is it a good idea?

Simon.

Re: Should AO technical area have a Fiat section?

Ian did set up FiatOwner a few years back, but I don't think he ever did anything with it.

To be honest, I'd say no, despite having owned a Coupe myself. If you do, then where do you stop? Lots of us have affection for Masers and Ferraris too, although fewer can afford them.
I think other marques tech help is the best we can do.

Re: Should AO technical area have a Fiat section?

It would be better for those on here with Fiats to try and make the other Fiat forums a better place. I did vote 'Other' because I was indecisive, but now that I've thought about it its probably not a good idea.

Perhaps FiatOwner was never going to get off the ground as FO anyway...

Keep this place for Alfas. To whoever suggested trying to make the Fiat forum a better place...

Re: Should AO technical area have a Fiat section?

Not sure on this one, if there was a fiat section (keep it very vauge, just a general FIAT section) i would be available to assist with technical queries as i have a fair bit of fiat experience. Also, you would be surprised how similar some fiats are too alfa's.....

That was exactly my way of thinking. After all they share components, and Alfa is owned by Fiat.
Many Fiat owners also buy Alfas and Verse Visa..

I've bought one so YES (I think I'm going to need it - the old Tipo it replaced seemed better built)

Re: Should AO technical area have a Fiat section?

I voted yes. The Fiat forums are pretty bad, and quite a few of us AO'ers have owned Fiats in the past.

But I can see where the general voting is going, lol
