This is the big one. It's Rocky v Apollo. It's Barca v Real. It's Blackburn v Burnley.

Jaguar E-Type v Ferrari 250 GT SWB California.

I've even picked photos where they are going head to head.

Purely based on that profile, I think the E-Type would win this whole thing hands down. It's smooth and streamlined like a bullet. It looks like it's doing 100mph just standing still. Even the lights and bumpers look like they are clinging on because it's going so fast.

However, we don't just see it in profile and the 3/4 view and front view show off that issue with the wheels being tucked too far underneath. The Ferrari's profile isn't quite as good but it looks good from every angle.

I'm really torn on this one.

Auto Express - six issues for a quid. Offer must end soon (and then immediately start up again).

I'll pick the E-type purely because the 250 California is not the best of the 250s.

E Type is let down by its rear end and looking like its on stilts, like KB said the Ferrari looks good from all angles.

Don't like the e-type hardtop from behind. The Fezza has hints of the DB4 'slab-sidedness' that Harvo quite rightly pointed out.

Very tough choice.

Toughy this one.
It's amazing how stance affects the overall look of a car. The E type in the top photo looks great where the rear arch meets the top of the rim and looks purposeful. Then look at the rear end shot where there's inches of rubber on show between the arch and it looks leggy and, er, a bit carp.

Oh sod it. On balance it has to be the jag.

First time I've ever seen you say something I agree with, or that isn't complete rubbish

That rear shot of the jaag certainly makes you question your whole reality. The E-Type is one of the best looking cars ever made, but that angle almost makes you forget all of that.

There isn't an angle where the 250GT looks bad. To me it is the perfect looking car

Very tough indeed.

The E-type looks more right from more angles (despite the dodgy inboard looking wheels). I think a 250SWB would have been sterner competition, nice as the California is. I go with the Jag.

Ferrari just because of Ferris Bueller's day off, and it's stunning and probably drives a hell of a lot better
