Re: Welcome, Introduce yourself to AONS!

Hi I'm Richard,

I'm 27 and am currently staying in Aberdeen, but am orignally from Birmingham.

Against the advice of everyone I know, I just bought a 2000 blue Alfa 156 Selespeed as I needed something with 4 doors for the impending family expansion

Despite the fact that I had problems with it every morning last week, I really think I am getting the Alfa bug! It's just so damn nice to drive

Looks like I just missed out on the meet in Stonehaven, but hopefully I'll get chance to catch some of you guys soon.

Re: Welcome, Introduce yourself to AONS!

Hi
I am over in the Isle of Lewis. Currently have four Alfas. My 156 jtd multijet sportwagon and the better half's 145 TS 1.8 are on the road all of the time. I also have an X-reg 1.8 156 Sportwagon that I aquired with engine problems with a view to replacing the 145 with it when it was sorted. The only problem is that we don't want to sell the 145.

Our fourth Alfa is an S-reg 146 with the 1.6 TS engine. It failed an MoT and the owner kindly donated it to my collection. First car I have ever seen with no stone chips! Hopefully it will be back onthe road shortly....

We get over to the mainland from time to time and the wife's sister lives in Aberdeen so we might make it to a meet eventually....

"When you sit in a Focus RS or a Golf R32 itís like sitting in a commercial for Lynx aftershave. When you sit in an 147 GTA itís like sitting in a Venetianís hand-made suitcase." J.Clarkson 2003.

Current fleet: 156 Sportwagon jtd 16V (facelift) 2.4 Spider, Leon Cupra SC, 147 Lusso
Projects: Spider S4, Matra Murena 2.2

Hi everyone,

I'm Tony. I live just outside Aberdeen in Kemnay. I drive an `82 GTV6. Don't take her out very often just now due to the salt on the roads.

Gutted I never spotted anything about the last meet, I will be up for the next one

Cheers,

Tony

Re: Welcome, Introduce yourself to AONS!

Hi all,

Tom here from Aberdeen. Just gotten rid of the old black 156 after 2-1/2 years, but traded up to a nice carb black V6 Brera. Ok so at 34 I can just about afford it now, and if nothing else I've been driving about with a daft grin since I picked it up a fortnight ago .

So far it's the only one I've seen around here so give a wave and I promise one back.

Re: Welcome, Introduce yourself to AONS!

Hi, just joined the forum. I'm staying just outside Aberdeen driving a red 147 GTA, not seen any others this far north so far! Already saving up for some new tyres to take down to the AROC track day at Knockhill in August!

Re: Welcome, Introduce yourself to AONS!

Hi All,

been a long time away from AO and not realised there was an active group nearby, anyway, I'm Derek long term fanatic/spanner monkey and had more Alfa's than I can remember.

Had my 1.8 *cough* 155 for nearly 5 years now and won't be getting rid anytime soon, others in the stable at the moment a 166 TS, 156 2.0 sp3, series 1 gtv and a 155 silverstone, the last 2 are breakers

Re: Welcome, Introduce yourself to AONS!

Hello all,

I'm in Aberdeenshire, drive a dark blue '02 plate 156 1.8ts turismo.

Trying to find anyone local that can do an aux belt and tensioner change for me. Seen a couple of people mention amnycada in Aberdeen - any other possibilities?

Cheers.

Not Happy Re: Welcome, Introduce yourself to AONS!

Like all Aberdeen garages, they are all mostlly underskilled underachievers and don't give a monkeys whether they see you again after you have parted with your cash, this from first hand experience of the Aberdeen motor trade.

Saw one poor woman charged £400 for an oil change only because she came to collect her car at the appointed time and they charged against the incomplete job card which some thicko had ticked all the boxes in advance of doing the work, beware.

But there is one who welcome return custom and have a high standard of workmanship, and that is Kirkhill Auto Services, not the cheapest, but experienced with Alfa's and won't leave you with 20 other things broken after doing the job.

All in all best to drive south if you can.
