BodyShops in Aberdeen

Hi ,

Looking for some recommendations for a bodyshop in Aberdeen for my Alfa 159.

Young loon on a motorbike scrapped down the side of my Alfa , damaging the front bumper , driver side wing and front drivers door, mostly cosmetic , but there are a couple of dents in the wing and the door.

The guy on the bike then hit a parked car , and pushed that parked car into another parked car. No one was injured , but the police were called, even though the guy appeared to be OK - turns out he was over the limit ( he's now currently in prison for 5 months- must have been more than this).

Anyway , he was at least insured , and his insurnace have agreed to cover repair costs ( so I keep my NCD & don't have to pay excess).

So now I need to find a good bodyshop.

Steve Walkers near morrisons is really close to me , anyone had any dealings?

Any other recommendations would be good, I'm also thinking of getting my alloys refurbised at the same time (at my own expense), so looking for a place that can do both the bodywork & alloys preferably.

Kinghorn bodyshop by blackburn come very highly recomended. They are an insurance approved and authorised Porsche bodyshop. They did the rear of my dads 944 10 years ago and the paint is still perfect. A mate of mine had them do some crash repairs on his punto and he said it was better than new afterwards.

Do NOT use JM Accident Repair on St Machar Drive -no matter what your/his insurance company said.

We had nothing but delays and then computer/blue n me trouble after we put our car there and haven't had good service on a previous occasion either.

Well the good news is that the 3rd party insurance company has an approved bodyshop in Aberdeen - and it's Kinghorn.

Highly delighted with that, they have already been on the phone to ask me to bring her in for a preliminary look.

(glad I am claiming on the third parties insurance) - just found out that my insurance company uses Arnold Clark

Wouldn't have mattered. You have the right to have the work carried out where you want it done. What the insurance company wants doesn't matter.

Absoluely correct, and a pint well worth noting - but it saves all the hassle , when they want you to go to the place you want your car to go to

Kinghorn in Blackburn are no longer a Porsche approved bodyshop. Mitchell Inglis in Glasgow are currently the only Porsche approved one in Scotland.

JM on St Machar Drive did a good job on my Spider when it was hit by a bin lorry. Though I did trade it in for my Porsche 3 days after getting it back so I'm not sure how the repairs were after a period of time.
