Well Folks,
It's been quite a while since our last run and now that I'm a rep I thought I'd better do some organising, so here goes...

Following the familiar format of old we'll meet in the central car park in Banchory from 10.00 before heading off at 10.30 to the Raemoir House for a fine cooked breakfast in style.

After that, weather and mood depending, I thought a run from the Raemoir to Ballater via Torphins, Lumphanan, Strathdon and Gairnshiel, before heading back along the south deeside road to Potarch and then splitting up to head over the Cairn or back to Aberdeen, etc.

If the weather doesn't accommodate we can decide what we want to do over some choice back pud!

Please let me know if you can manage,

Cheers,
Stuart

Aye, the forecasts looking good we might even have it on the terrace if its this nice!

I'll be phoning in numbers on Saturday to confirm approx numbers. I make it 11 thus far. Anyone joining after that is still welcome but may have to see to themselves so to speak for brekkie, although Mr Rae will surely manage to accommodate.

With such good weather it looks like a run on the route suggested will be on too

Mind the Suncream,

Stu

Great trip today, fine breakfast, fine company, fine weather.

Thanks to everyone who mde it along for breakfast at the Raemoir. As usual Mr Rae and his team did us proud and we had a seat on the lawn before heading off to Lumphanan and Strathdon before taking the Gairnshiel road into Ballater.

Despite the sun, or perhaps because of, the roads were very quiet.

Following a refreshment stop, and another blether, it was time to head for home.

Now, how do we follow that? We've been west, so it's either north or south next time.....

Really enjoyed today folks, good breakfast, great company, great roads, cracking weather - well done to Stuart for pulling it together. I took the South Deeside Road home which was a nice way to end the day. 110 miles all told and a quarter tank well spent! Awa to watch Top Gear we a cuppy and a breakaway Maybe North next time? Perhaps meet at the beach and head for Meldrum then Huntly, Rhynie, Alford then back to town? Just sayin'

Next trip...hmmm good question.

I like Derek's idea of a Brekkie in one of the beach cafe's in Aberdeen. The sand dollar would be perfect and I'm sure they'd be happy to have us. A run up the coast, across country to Alford, refreshments etc. would be good too. If its not so nice there are shorter routes and other places to stop too.

Or

A run down to the East Neuk of Fife, a wee bit further perhaps, but plenty stopping places, nice places to eat and partake of a beverage. Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem are all bonnie, especially in summer. Perhaps more of a trip than a run, there's an arts festival on the 10th.

Or

Do you have an idea? It's your run too...where would you like to go, do you have a recommendation?

Ideally we need someplace easily found to meet up, someplace to have breakfast or lunch, nd someplace to drive round. Numbers are normally around a dozen, usually with around 6 cars.

So lets have some more suggestions for places and dates please

Next date I'm available is 10/11th August or preferably 30th Aug/1st Sept. We've never really done Fife, but we'd happily go wherever.

Hey, If you lot are going to Fife on or after 10 August you may well get a plus 1 or 4. We're on holiday just outside St Drew's then It'd be really good to catch up with you lot

Yes it was a very pleasant Meet - thanks for organising Stuart! The weather certainly was a bonus and it sounds like you enjoyed a great run after the brekkie.

A few pics of the day (plus one explaining why we couldn't stay for the drive!)

Looking forward to the next one!
