good independent around Fife / Tayside....

Evening all,
Almost time for the Spider to come out of hibernation!
Does anyone know of any good Alfa knowledgeable garages around Fife, or Dundee or the like?

Aye, CP is your best place. What Euan doesn't know about the finer workings of an Alfa is not worth knowing! Alternatively, Western in Perth, not as expensive as you'd think.

Great service and never heard a bad thing about CP Garage, wish we had a specialist like that near Aberdeen!

And now I've gone and bought a 146 Ti. Black with tan leather, to match the Spider! Maybe I can get a tan interior for the Sprint too? Hmmmmmm

Alfa GT JTD

Got the GT back from CP today. Very impressed with the time it took to do the work, the cleanliness of the workshop and the friendliness of the whole operation. Despite what my wife thinks 942 for what was done is not a bad price.
Full service, MOT, timing belt / water pump, two front top wishbones and a set of handbrake cables for the MOT. They also chased out a knackered brake disc thread and fitted the spare bolt I took with me. Ten hours labour is really good.
The paperwork details everything and highlights areas of possible future concern. And yes, that includes the front ARB!
One last thing. The courtesy Fiat Panda is a hoot, but man those tyres are TALL!

Scottish Italian car day at Hill of Tarvit not enough for you? My own thoughts (don't take this the wrong way) we always struggle to get any commitment from those south of the Tay. Good luck.
The Scottish section of AROC will be holding a few events over the year and I'd be keen to see us become more integrated with their calender. At least one track day at Knockhill, perhaps another at Crail (autotest anybody) and of course our own breakfast and pub meets are all on the horizon.
Cheers

So far I don't think a date has been arranged for Hopetoun House this year, so it might not happen.

Garage
Spent another wad of cash at CPs in Dundee this week.

A service with a failed MOT last week due to a non-functioning rear calliper. They tried to sort it out but in the end a new one was required. I took the opportunity to get my front discs and pads changed too as they were on the way out.

Excellent service as always and provided me with one of their Pandas as a loan car. It's a shame they aren't closer to home to save the 1hr drive each way from Aberdeen.

Careful though, Euan likes to sneak little additions on to your car. Not sure that will be staying!

Not sure I'd like that on the GT.
I will say that the last time I was in there I had the DMF, clutch and front ARB done after the DMF failed on the Cairn. (long story for another post)
They collected the car from my house for not much money, brought a Panda to my house, fix the car, and we all had a good laugh about the rotating DMF
Apparently they had never seen one do that before...
Anyhoo, the work was excellent and I can't moan about the price. The bugger is that it was booked in to have the work done on the Thursday and it broke on the Tuesday. The difference since it was all done is stunning - smoother, better handling, now gets in to top at 60mph, drive out of slow corners is fantastic, no understeer, I could go on!
Thanks CP, top job.
