Good garage in Aberdeen?

I have a 159 and I've been told over the phone by Western in Edinburgh that it needs a new power steering reservoir. They are sending a new reservoir plus a bottle of fluid to me this week via post.

Does anyone know a decent garage in south/west aberdeen city who could fit the new reservoir. Must be in the city itself. This will also involve draining out the fluid currently in the system.

Thanks

Colin

Colin, did you use these guys in the end? I need to get my front calipers stripped and cleaned on the Brera, and I dont fancy trying to shift the Brembo pins myself. Cheers

In the end I went to a local garage in Banchory as it was a simple job and I didn't want to drive the car far.

A few other people have also recommended John Park to me as they seem to have some experience with Alfas. I'll give them a try if something else comes up.

In the past I've always used an Alfa specialist in Dundee (CP Garage) for services and any major repairs and have always been happy with their work. It's a long way to go but they provide loans cars and are open on Saturday mornings.

I have been putting my cars to him for years for servicing and MOT's. His son owns the Volk Centre Garage out in Kingswells who i also used when i had Volkswagens

Only thing he cant do is the cam belts as he doesnt have the cam lock tools.

Cheers, may give them a try then as they're near my work. I've also used CP in Dundee a few times with my old GTV, and they have been consistently good. They're my first choice for big jobs, but I don't really want to go all that way for a simple caliper strip and clean.

Maybe another time, but I need somewhere close to work for convenience. Should only be a quick clean up job, as the brakes got a clean bill of health when it had its service and MOT at Western less than 1000 miles ago

Sorry...another Aberdeen garage thread!

John Park Motor Engineers were mentioned in another thread. Has anyone used this garage before?

I need to get the 159 in to see why the engine management light comes on as it came on again last night but hasn't gone off this time.

My problem with Dundee, etc, is getting the car there as I don't have any holidays left from work. So, I am looking for a good local garage that can investigate this problem.

Also, do you know if they do loan cars?

GIVE US AN ALFA DEALERSHIP IN ABERDEEN!!!!

I have used John Park for a lot of work over the years, but never for diagnostics. He doesn't do loan cars.

You might want to try :

AW are closed due to the fire at the next door garage.

If you need to get it on to a machine Kirkhill can do it?

Do you work in Aberdeen? I have a handheld code reader but it may not pick up the error if it is not showing at the time.

I work in Inverurie and live in Aberdeen. It is an intermittent fault and the engine management light has gone out again.

I'll get it booked into Kirkhill to see what the problem is as it is the second time that it's happened in just less than a month.

I thought I'd add another local garage recommendation if anyone needs any paintwork done in the Aberdeen area. After last years warranty respray of the rear arches on my Brera, the paint and primer fell off the nearside arch due to 'stonechpping', allowing tin worm to set in after less than 3000 miles. I decided to take it down to Stuart Cooper in Fordoun who has done a cracking job of sorting the rusty arches and sills. A good guy so worth a try if you are in the Mearns area.

Stuarty Cooper is a braa lad, I'm good friends with his brother also. I plan on getting his son Barry to respray Daphne Broon at some point when funds allow.

You'll be in safe hands, very impressed. Think I may have put Stuart of Alfa's though, given the nightmare he had getting the correct paint for the Brera..it seems they weren't that consistent at the factory.
