Hmmm Timing Belt Bust-up

C**p, looks like I blew my timing belt this morning on my 156. She was 12 years old (X-plate), so I have had a good run for my money from her (I think that I put on 120,000 trouble-free miles on to her). Not good.

I would like to pick up another Alfa, but I am on a pretty restricted budget and I'm not seeing a whole lot out there. Anybody on the forum got a 156 coming up for sale in the north-east ? As if I don't pick anything up soon, I guess I'll end up driving a Mondeo! Yuk!

Sorry to hear that. Hope you find a new motor.

Graham had a 156 for sale last week that was a trade in to Western but it may be gone by now.

Our 156 has gone, I'll have a look to see if we have any more within the group coming in soon tomorrow.

There is a guy at northend garage in dundee has a black 02 1.8 156 he's been trying to sell.

Aparently it has been no expense spare maintained and the bodywork looks spotless (well he does work in the spray shop so guess he knows how to maintain a car body well).

Thanks for all the comments, guys.

I have a couple of possibilities, so I may be saved from becoming Mondeo man, after all!
