Going offshore/alfa gt

This post isn't entirely alfa related so hope it is ok. The company I was with restructured in Jan and I took the offer of a package so I am now looking for a new role and I wondered if you local guys could give me any advice on finding an entry level offshore job?

I did an electrical engineering apprenticeship with the Hydro Board in Aberdeen in the late 80s then did a degree in electronics after that but since then I have worked in commercial roles. I really fancy a change though and offshore would suit my personal life.

The alfa bit of this post is that if I don't find a job in the next couple of months I will need to sell a silver 2005 GT jtd if anybody is interested but at the moment I am hoping not!

I'll be up in Aberdeen on Mon, Tues & Weds so give me a wave if you see a silver 05 GT

Just a quick update to this thread.

Good news. I'm starting in Aberdeen next week in a role that will be mostly onshore but with a few offshore trips so I will be about Mon to Thursday. I think though I am going to buy a flat for use during the week so the gt will be going on the market to fund a deposit.
I'll post a link to the ad once I get it on the classifieds.

good luck with the new job - life in Aberdeen is good - I moved here from East Lothian 6 years ago and wouldn't go back

how about renting rather than buying - that way you can keep the GT

Thanks I am looking forward to getting started in my new role.

The monthly cost of a mortgage is less than renting at the moment but you are right I won't need to raise the deposit if I rent and could keep the car but I would prefer to be investing in a property than giving somebody else rent money if I can.
