Re mapping

My MOT is due at the end of the month. No doubt it will be painful, but should I get off lightly I would quite like to treat the GT JTDm to a re-map.

Any advice on getting this done in this area? Or is travel required?

No sure of anybody up this neck of the woods mate. I'm sure somebody up here will know of someone/somewhere that could do a re-map on your GT.
Whereabouts in Aberdeenshire are you? Why not come along to our next pub meet?
Cheers

Thanks guys, I'll take a look at these. I wouldn't mind travelling a bit too, if there was someone highly recommended.

The car is going into Kirkhill (as it did last time) at the end of the month, so will see after that.

Cheers

Garage
You will need to travel, but I'm getting Paul from Angel Tuning to do mine. Check Angel Tuning thread on South Scotland lounge. Also Chick at CM is toying with taking on the Alfa Tune stuff in future.

Hi there, I know this is quite an old thread but did you get your car remapped in the end??

If not and you would be willing to wait a month or two I would be willing to go for an angeltune remap, if we could get a few people together it could be quite a good price for all??

If not, have a good new year!!

I stopped in at St Helens on a trip up the M6 a year ago and Gus remapped mine. Top bloke, the rest of the drive home was great

Does it really make much of a difference?

Would it improve fuel economy??

Made a huge difference to me but mines only a 1.6 so it needed it!

The peak power increase wasn't much on the smaller engine but it seems like a huge boost in the average power across the rev range and makes much better use of what it had. Car pulls in 5th now up steep hills where I used to have to change down to 4th and is much more drivable. With economy the main thing was just with having to change down the gears less and the better throttle response means you aren't over revving as much when changing speeds. But we all know being Alfa drivers that you still will plant your foot so it kinda gets negated a bit. But if you drive sensibly it can make an improvement.

I've not had mine done yet, unfortunately. Had to change our other (or wife's) car for something bigger, and that took priority.

Still want to get this done at some point, but with service and road tax due now, it will be a wee while until I can justify it.

Some interesting replies though.

Yea, pretty much same here mate.

My TS that I gave to my girlfriend after getting the V6 need some serious work done to it and we are thinking of moving to Portugal later in the year / early next year. I will hopefully be working on rotation so we will be taking her car first and mine will be going into storage for a while which means, unfortunately, any mods on mine will have to be put on hold......well, I might just be able to get a set of rear konis first
