Where in Aberdeenshire do you stay?

As for the cable, e-bay. Think club member Sears had a couple for sale.

Derek,

I've used CP garage in Dundee in the past & they seem to know their stuff & are resonably priced. Its a bit of a hassle to get down there but you could always take in the delights of Dundee while your waiting for yer car

CP - Seem Pretty Good

Went down to Dundee today to get belts and various other bits and pieces done on my 1.6TS 147.

I thought the price for cambelt change, including tensioners was pretty reasonable. Also got the waterpump done at the same time and required replacement aux belt tensioner.

Bought the car about 2 months ago in private sale - folks had owned it since September last year and had asked for timing belt to be changed at the dealer they bought it from - not an Alfa dealer.

However, had a peek and it did not look too fresh to me...

However, once I picked it up, it's like a new car - much nippier.

Transpires the gear linkage required some tightening - again what a difference - I though 147's had a floppy lever - no longer.

I also managed to drop it onto one of the rear transverse arms whilst changing rear pads - go this replaced by CP at same time, including sorting alignment/tracking. Much, much better handling.

Run over the Cairn a Mount was fun on the way home to near Abz.....

CP seem like a good bunch of folks who know their stuff. Dundee is also not that bad a place - really!
