Re: Introduce yourself......

Steve. A new AROC member and I've been hanging around these AO parts for a year or so. I'm on my 2nd 156 - the current one is a blue 1.8 Turismo.

A long time fan of most Italian motors with a soft spot for Alfa since youth (a long time ago). I never seem to make the AONE meets though I have been to NAD and would aim to make an AROC meet sooner rather than later. I've been on a recent Alfa track day at Croft (well recommended) though I am Captain Slow myself.

Re: Introduce yourself......

Hi Everyone

I'm Bryan and live in Tantobie - I've had Italian cars most of my driving years - GTV SE Strada, Beta HPE, Sud, Prisma, Delta HF, 33 Green Cloverleaf, 33 16V IE, 75 Twin Spark, and currently GTV Turbo. I still have the Delta and the 33 Green Cloverleaf although they are garaged as long term restorations when I *finally* have enough hours in the day.

Workwise I'm a network/server/computer person specialising in linux solutions for business. If you ever go out walking in the country and come across a cow you'll spy some of my work. The big yellow tag in it's ears is more than likely supplied by the Company I work for. I wrote the software that produces them ten years ago now and they're printed on Industrial 'James Bond' type lasers that burn it into the plastic material, each tag is unique across the EU and cows even have their own passports! They go hand in hand with the tag. Not that they'll be jetting to Tenerife any time soon, but at the last foot and mouth in 2001 we had quite a lot of re-stocking done from our EU neighbours.

For those of you that have met me at a couple of the meets - I live with Kath, a Canadian I bumped into 9 years ago and have two German Shepherds that are my bambino's!

Re: Introduce yourself......

Alreet, Paul here, 39 years old, married to Gillian, two daughters, project manager and i live in west denton park, just along the road from Jason above/\

I'm a first time Alfa owner having took delivery of my 159 Lusso 1.9 JTDM on monday this week, after much pestering from my alfa owning brother. Its a fantastic car, best i've owned so far.
I tried the usual suspects ,bmw 3 series, audi a4 even a mercedes e class (made me feel about 70 years old), but as soon as i drove the alfa there was only one winner. The bmw salesman was quite taken aback when he rang me on the monday after my test drive when i told him i was going for the Alfa.

(yes i copied and pasted part of this from the main 'Introduce yourself thread' as i am a lazy get)

Re: Introduce yourself......

Hoping to get a TS Bri as the insurance on a V6 would force me to sell a kidney or two

Been to view a TS in Gosforth this afternoon, wasn't really up to scratch and they wanted £3,999 for it. I'm ideally holding out for a Lusso which has been meticulously looked after by its lone owner from new and has just had a new cam belt and assorted parts.... perhaps a little unrealistic eh!?

Re: Introduce Yourself To AONE

Hi I'm Andy, 28 years old, living in Durham. I don't have any kids and I'm not married either. Had a few company cars over the last few years which meant I was dictated to which car I drove... now I have a lovely ***** 147 that I'm very happy with and it's mine.
