Guys,

My mate who's just gotten out of the army has returned back, and not happy with his little Mazda 323F he used to pass his test is after a 156 2.0 T-Spark like mine.
(But not mine though! :tut:  )

He's been out there for 5 years and is turning 22 on 4th April, since he's only JUST past his test he has no NCB whatsoever.

He's looking for an insurance company who aren't quoting £1500+!!!

Any ideas where a 22 year old with no NCB and who's only just passed his test can find cheap Alfa insurance???

All help, as always, is mucho appreciato!!! :D

Ta,
Daz

Well today we looked around for insurance on his mums name but still couldnt find anything, :(

His mum's got a million years NCB but the ones we tried (Admiral, Tesco, Churchill) wouldn't allow a 22 Year old with no NCB to be insured on a 2 Litre Alfa for some reason, even on his mums insurance!

Weird...

Try Elephant, I only passed my test back in september last year, as a first time insurance I used them, my old taxi driver recommended them as there son had insurance from them to drive the taxi at the age of 18.

Like anything with an Alfa, its not going to be cheap, mine was £800, but that was with a years breakdown cover, courtesy car and £300 excess.

It is a bit strange that even with a parent he can't get insured

Funny really. When I got my 145QV at 23 one of the selling points was that the insurance was a lot cheaper than more 'obvious' hot hatches like a Golf GTi.

i have been with adrian fluxnow three years for my alfa but know people in a position similiar to your friends the insurance companies really are mean to young drivers and truly ripp you off as they prey on the loopholes in the insurance buisness you might want to give ecocar insurance a try they are underwritten by zurich who i have also used in the past some companies think your driving a maserati or a bently when you say alfa romeo i think its more stigma around the car than it is the experience of the driver
