This is a *feeler* to see if anyone would be up for a combined Ring/Spa trip this fall.

I've had a look at the options, and as you probably know, Trackdays on Spa is far between and quickly booked. Therefore this is something you would need to commit to and pay for well in advance.

I have found a company that arranges trips there , namely October 6-9 2007. I know people who have done this trip before, and they spoke very highly of it.

It includes 3 or 4 nights at hotel, 10 laps on the ring(not 100% sure if they include this again this year) and two full trackdays at Spa.

Schedule:

Arrival Saturday oct. 6th at the Nurburgring. Touristenfahrten (public driving) from 17:30 - 20:30

Sunday 08:00-20:30 Touristenfahrten (public driving)

Sunday evening or early monday drive to the Hotel in Spa (1 hrs drive from the ring)

Monday oct. 8 full Trackday at Spa
Tuesday oct. 9 full Trackday at Spa.

returning wednesday morning.

estimated price is a very resonable £400 /585 €. The final price is still to be announced at their website. they will have max. 50 entries, and they are very sought after, but i might get a chance to pre-book 5-8 spots.

Again this is just a feeler and you will have to commit early, and pay in advance, preferebly directly to the company (of which i have no affiliation)

Well that would certainly be a nice way to celebrate the day!

I have to say that it's only now that i get what all the Spa hype is about....I had no idea how big the visual impact you get from some of the sections is. I mean.. Eau Rouge... now i get it!

The ring is fantastic but it's not a real race track per say... it's narrow and you know that Barrier is only a very little mistake away. On Spa you can mess up and just end up in a huge and safe sandpit. So i would say it's a nice place to take the car to the limit. the whole area and the atmosphere is just special. It is definitely worth a visit!

What i like in spaitalia is to run your car with some ferrari and prototype cars on a real race track at same time. Folks there have also more or less same attitude, it can be totally opposite at the nordschleife :D
There are also no nogo areas. you can have a very close look on all cars.
I have to see if i can make it financially to this Oct. trip, i will not take my car with road tyres to the track this time:D

sound good Seluk & EA!

I would like to draw the attention to what a company like

www.Easytrack.co.uk

charges for just one day at Spa (£229) They are also selling for the same two days in oct. and the 8th is alreay fully booked.

If indeed we can manage to buy the package at £400, it really is very very good value!

After being on a recent trip to the Ring, i got the chance to talk to an experienced "Spa user" as it turns out, there are quite a few Trackdays going on there, and they are not always very expensive! The thing is that they are not published. I am going to try and tap into this "unofficial list" ;) and see if a day there could be worked into a combination Nurburg/Spa trip, probably for next year 2008. So in other words i think i will draw from futher planning of a Spa visit this year. :)
