Driven many f1 cars in the greasy damp, with no rubber left on the rear tyres then, have you?

I haven't ever flown a plane, but I'd expect a professional pilot to be able to do it.

Hamilton himself said he made a mistake. Maybe he's right?

Certainly looked that way - if they'd brought him in a lap or two earlier, he might not have dropped it.

Yess!!
Go Kimi and Fernando! Show that lil'pompous boy where the real men come from...
I *almost* wish that Fernando took the title, although as a Finn I'm a natural borne Kimi supporter....
That would be so painful for certain Ron Dennis...:-)
and of course

Despite that, as a professional driver he should have been more careful entering the pit lane though. It is entirely his fault he didn't clinch the championship today.

I think making one big mistake all season and going into the final race of your rookie season 4 points ahead of your dummy spitting, door slamming double world champion teammate is quite professional enough.

Re: How surreal, Hamilton in China.

its simple he had no tyres left on the rear. He entered the pit lane to fast, making the back drifted out the only was to correct it was steering towards the gravel. But unfortunately he couldn't keep it.

Re: How surreal, Hamilton in China.

Reminded me of that very British bad luck in these situations. I.e. Hill getting punted off in Australia to lose championship to a rather good German driver, whatever happend to him? And Mansell's wheel falling off when machanic didn't do up wheel properly

It was the fact it was so slow and ridiclulas, just sat there stuck!!

What guff, he was hardly doing doughnuts as he came in to the pit lane. This is Steve McClaren's fault!

Re: How surreal, Hamilton in China.

Do you reckon it's his driving style - sliding the rear end around - that caused this? It's his 2nd rear tyre issue this season... no-one else seems to have these problems.

He's a class act though and I've got my fingers crossed for him in Brazil.

That has nothing to do with it. It is simple: yes, it his fault he lost control over the car when entering the pit lane and yes, he deserves to be this years world champion.

No guff at all. I am not saying he was responsible for the condition his tyres were in. But he was the one who drove the McLaren and he was the one entering the pit lane to fast given the circumstances.

Re: How surreal, Hamilton in China.

I think young Mr Hamiltons allowed one mistake in his first season

He has to share the blame with the team though, it was clear his Tyres were absolutely shot but they didn't bring him in. I can only imagine he was just outside the 'window' for fuel and had to stay out.

As as for Artboys dubious referances to Hill being deliberately rammed by Schumacher and the Mansell's Wheel problem, I'm not sure what relevance they have to this.

In any case why do these Finnish F1 drivers have such a bland personality when the Finish Rally drivers are so vibrant, do you extract them at the border or something???

I liked Mika and Kimi has great talent, but boy they are so boring.....

Re: How surreal, Hamilton in China.

Yep, bad judgement on his part and his teams part for keeping him out for those extra few laps!!

All he had to do was finish ahead of Alonso, but it looks like all he needs is a 3rd place to take the title.

He's got the same natural talent and ability as Schumacher has/had, but I think it has been noticed a lot sooner as F1 has become a bit boring until this season. There is of course the risk that Hamilton becomes the next Schuey - and just stays out in the front winning, which will make F1 boring again - it needs the drama, excitement, nail-biting action like in the past few races. Sure, all this furore over Ferrari's allegations on spying, the threat of having points stripped from the Japanese race, and all the politics that goes on in F1, it's not surprising that his head was perhaps not fully focused!!

I still think he can do it in the last race of the season - well I hope so anyway!!

Thats the kind of pathetic comment I'd expect from a BMW driving FUD not an Alfa driver.

If I drove/had driven F1 cars it would be unlikely I would be on this website but I think you should stick to driving big fast trains, as you clearly, unlike moi, have **** all idea of car control.......
