Wrc 2007

Just watched it live on Eurosport 2. The new Citroen C4 got P 1 & 2 Loeb lead home Sordo.

I'm a Sollberg / Mills fan (the Welsh connection). The new Scooby comes out for round 3

Great sport but poor TV unless you watch the highlights

Cheers,

Have you been on the Saki BF Pugs aren't in it as a factory team and weren't last year either!

They are part of the PSA Peugeot Citroen group though

Re: Wrc 2007

TV coverage is very poor especially on terrestrial channels, I'm hoping one of the other teams does some damage to the Citroen dominance of the past few years.

Re: Wrc 2007

its also good to see that the Irish event will beincluded within the WRC calender this year!

I've just had a look on the rally events/holiday site, and i think I'll book myself into going to see either the German event or the Corsican event (latter preffered). Tarmac events for me, and these two are IMO nice and compact with good areas to watch.

Re: Wrc 2007

Not many rally fans on here, eh?

Who does anyone reckon for Portugal?,
I think Miko could be in with a shout if Markus & Seb clean the road enough for him on day 1, and he can stay ahead there after.

Still think Subaru have a bit of work to do, but could be proven wrong.

Just hope it's not another Seb runaway.

I know I'm talking to meself here, but MG 2.3s quickest on the SuperSpecial , big gap for an SS, watch it disappear as he gets his broom out

Re: Wrc 2007

I love rallying, but have not followed it so far this year much. Not enough time.

So Gronholm looks hot? SS times always misleading though. It's where Skoda's used to get their stage wins.

Keep us posted Marksie, I'd love to follow it through here. Can't get to the WRC website from work

Re: Wrc 2007

Sorry
DS Dani Sordo
CA Chris Atkinson
HS Henning Solberg

Yep, running in Championship order , Markus first, then Seb, Miko, Dani, etc,
don't know what condition stages are in, but if Markus is sweeping loose stuff away then his time is fantastic !!

EDIT and he finished the stage with a puncture

No fan of Loeb then?

Good to see Solberg competitive again Marcus is flying, especially if (as you say) there's a lot of loose stuff.

Keep it coming

Re: Wrc 2007

not hiding my preferences very well, am I,

life long Fordie (until I discovered the joys of Alfa),

funnily enough when younger I liked the young upstarts, but now when wee B******Ks 10yrs younger than me start winning then they are just *&$#%@ers

Wasn't a big Markus fan either, until about a year ago

Re: Wrc 2007

Ford's are flying this year, and its good to see the Citroen dominance disrupted.

Re: Wrc 2007

About time,
unfortunately deep down I don't think anything can stop the pure driving machine that is Seb, my slight dislike of him is based purely on his ability to win so easily so often (until M-Sport sign him, Obviously )

Re: Wrc 2007

Seb actually seems like a very likable guy.
A lot of the Rally guys don't seem to have the humungous egos of F1, despite (IMHO) doing a much more exciting, skillful, and dangerous job.

Re: Wrc 2007

This is true, just wish he would slow down or change team,
Might try and email him see if he wants to go mountain biking sometime

Overall after 5

1 MG 58:12.2
2 SL +6.0 (phew)
3 MH +8.3
4 PS +9.3
5 DS +44.6
6 MS +1:19.9

7 JL +1:46.1 Jari Matti Lattvalalalala

something may have happened on stage, some competitors have been given nominal times, off to check news
