Well Happy Wtcc 2007

One of the new drivers of NTechnology for 2007 will be the brit James Thompson
So far that's the only good news.Aparently, this will be the last year for AR in the WTCC due to the participation of the 8C in the FIA GT Chapionship from 2008.

Good news that they're racing

Shame it's not in a 'new' car

Re: Wtcc 2007

Thanks for the link. It'll be the oldest but best looking car out there

They worked wonders with it last year. The 3 box saloon works better than the 2 box hatches although the flat undersides they can have no as narrowed the gap

Good to see Tommo back

Re: Wtcc 2007

I thought at the start of last season they wasn't going to do very well because they had some very poor results but towards the end of the season they proved me wrong. Its just a shame that Augusto Farfus Jnr has gone to BMW Last season he really proved himself to be a worthy future champion.

Re the 8c how does racing that against the MC12 make commercial sense or will the maser be retired?

Re: Wtcc 2007

hehe, SEAT to exit championship if weight limitations are not revised!!! BMWs are lighter than FWDs which is not logical cos RWDs are potentially faster and have advantage on starts, and futhermore BMWs are designed special version of 3series and produced a small number just to much rules, which are not strict enough on this points... hope SEAT succed cos this mean that BMWs artificial advantage will disappear and Alfa may win a championship

Re: Wtcc 2007

Also I think both races should start off with a rolling start and not just the first as the bm's are quick off a standing start

Re: Wtcc 2007

Alfa seem to be doing very poorly indeed in the championship from what I have seen on their website with them being the bottom of the 4 manufacturers. Its a shame that the 156 seems to have had its day. Roll on the next breed of alfa!

The 8c in the GT Championship should be a pretty spectacular sight (and sound!)

Re: Wtcc 2007

How come? They just need a new model out there now! I mean wasnt the 156 first produced for the market in this country 9 years ago? and the BMW, Seat and Chevrolet are much newer models.

Re: Wtcc 2007

As far as I know the 156s haven't had official factory support the last couple of years so the car is effectively the same as that from 2 seasons ago. Am I also right in saying they've reduced the weight penalty for the RWD cars?

I think Alfa have done well in challenging at the front the last couple of years in what is now, in racing terms, an old car. There was talk of an official works team using the 149 when it is launched but I'm not sure if that'll still be the case.

Re: Wtcc 2007

James Thompson does the Double from 8th on the Grid on race 2.

Go on ALFA

He is now on 20 points (-11) and 6th in the driver's points table.
