Help Most Memorable F1 Incident

For me had to be Mansell's enormous blowout at approx 200 mph. How he kept that car controlled I bet he doesn't know

Re: Most Memorable F1 Incident

Damon Hill driving an Arrows overtaking Schumacher in 1997 to lead the Hungarian GP.

The first GP I went to was very memorable too, the 1980 British GP at Brands Hatch. Although we were the opposite side of the circuit, the ground shook at the start. Modern F1 engines sound like metal screaming, in those days the V8 Cosworths and V12 Ferrari's sounded like rolling thunder. You didn't just hear them, you fealt them.

Re: Most Memorable F1 Incident

Watching Gerhard Berger crash in flames at Imola and wondering how anyone could survive that.
Obviously the Senna crash at the same corner in 1994 was memorable but its not a good memory.

I was actually at the circuit when that happened Simon. Still get shivers when I remember what happened.

Re: Most Memorable F1 Incident

Well not so much a single accident but the three starts in the Austrian GP in 1987 after the initial two pile-ups were pretty memorable.

Re: Most Memorable F1 Incident

either 89 or 90 at imola when Mansell spun 360 and carried on and only lost about a second on his normal lap time. i think it was Berger who pushed him onto the grass.

only prob was 2 laps later if i recall the car broke.

memory fades though
