WTCC - Silverstone

I had a fantastic day @ silverstaone!
mooched around the Squadra Corse garage , wandered all over the course, been fed and watered by Alfa Romeo , had my piccie taken with Tarquini , had my picture taken with pit babes watched the alfas from the pit straight grandstand, met some great people, got all the drivers auotgraphs
And took about 150 Hi-res piccies, several minutes of video footage and recorded the sound of a GTA being warmed up in the garage

Race 1 = formation finish
Race 2 = Exciting action and a reasonable result for Alfa as well

apart from Thompson being made airborne by a SEAT

I had a fantastic day too! got my first Alfa wave (very black 147 GTA), a pretty good race result and met a director of AROC who showed me round his stunning 2000 GTV, it doesn't get much better.

Re: WTCC - Silverstone

Saw this on the telly - To be fair Tarquini nudged the Seat into Thommo, but the reaction of the two cars was a little greater than would normally be the case. Thommo was a bit unlucky because it looked like he had left plenty of room but not sure the Seat could do anything!

Didn't like the "gamesmanship" by Plato in holding back the whole field by miles on the re-start to let Rydell get away!

Will be interesting to see what happens with the beemers with the reversal of success ballast for the next round.

Gaby.. nudging cars no I can't believe that!

I was across the field from that little contretemps so only saw the result, gotta say the 2nd race was very exciting, shame about the SC being deployed, I reckon that cost Alfa 2nd & 3rd in the 2nd race. It certainly looked like a couple of laps and they'd have had the 2nd place Seat.

I was very disappointed when trying to get out of the car park, a red 156 refused to let me out onto the road, but then gave way to a BMW 3SERIES

Re: WTCC - Silverstone

Took my son up for the day and have never seen so many Alfas in a car park.

The 156's all looked stunning running in formation in the first race although I was more blown away at the power of the GT cars breaking at the end of the main straight.Absolute awsome watching them.

Re: WTCC - Silverstone

Finally saw some WTCC action yesterday. The race from Silverstone was on, great to see that 1-2-3-4 for the Alfa's.
Love the close racing you get from touring cars. Good to see that they're using proper cars in the WTCC as opposed to the hatchbacks that are all over the BTCC. What happened there? Remember when they had the Alfa 155's, Volvo 850 estates, Toyota Carina's, Renault 19's and so forth. Good times.
