Wave Goodwood Festival of Speed

I've booked tickets for Goodwood Festival of Speed.

I've never been, and there seems to be so much on! I plan to be there from gates open at 7 o'clock, but from the ticket details of everything that's happening, I don't think I've a chance of seeing it all!

To those of you that have been, or even been involved, do you have any tips on how to plan the day? Which are the 'must sees' etc?

Any advice you can give would be much appreciated, thanks

I'm so looking forward to it. I'm gonna be a pig in poo poo!

Watch out for Snooty...he's Trouble...

I went to the very first one back in '93 - it's a bit bigger than it was then. I'm envious, would love to go again.

Ive been a couple of times now, but the other half has relatives who live in Tangmere, and we walked there from their house

Anyway, get a program and make sure you can be somewhere near the track for the cars you want to see (for us it was the F1 and the supercars), at the right times.

After this I wandered round the manufacturers bit (the Giulietta was just launching), then we headed over to the concourse d'elegance to the side of the house. After the F1 cars we headed up to the rally section in the forsest, and the rally paddock at the top, where there were plenty of old Italian classics, from Statos(es?), Fiat 131, Delta Integrales etc.. Be warned though its quite a hike to the top...

I found I could get most of what you want in a day, and I was (content) and knackered when we got back to Tangmere!

There is also a "bar" area with live music if you want to rest your weary feet!

I've been twice and it was great, but be prepared - it is huge! We arrived at 7am having driven through the night! We drove back the same day, would you believe?! Mad!!

We're (some work mates and I) are going on the Friday, as theres more than enough to see even on the 'quietest' day.We arrived fairly late last year and missed loads so plan to get there much earlier this time. Cannot wait!!
