Le Mans 2011

Was just wondering if any AOers are heading down to Le Mans this year for the 24 Hour race? We're booked to camp at Arnage from Wednesday until Monday with some other Alfisti, so thought it would be great to hook up for a few beers with other AOers who might be about?

I'll be there.. (so long as the alfa makes it!). We've a group of 12 or so staying at Karting Nord (i think!).
3 of us driving down together on the Wednesday 8th (8:10am ferry from Dover) - one in a 1983 Jeep Cherokee (to be used to haul all our PA equipment!), another in his DB8 (again, if it makes it!) and me in 916 Spider TS Lusso !

If anyone else is on the same / similar time ferry, then would be great to extend the convoy and enjoy the smooth French roads alongside!

We've decided to take my Fiorino instead of Lynn's GT.
It is so much more practical for a camping holiday and
I get about 52 mpg from it. We shall be crossing the
channel on Tuesday evening, staying in an hotel that
night and driving down on the Wednesday morning.

Not long now

Going over on Thursday morning ferry and camping on Blue North... although we're going in Kristie's MX5 because we didn't know if Daisy would be fixed in time. Just been reading the Autosport guide and I'm getting very, very excited.

enjoy your time there guys, one year i will make the trip again

juts watched warm up, now onto the legends race. settling in for the race and eurosport HD coverage, cars look fabulous on screen

hope the diesels eventually deceide to play elsewhere, le mans needs to have the sound as well as the sights of real racing cars

proved their point now, they can make a derv racing car. now, back to real racing engines, PLEASE

I was watching this live this afternoon, and when I first saw it, I had a lump in my throat, as I thought, there is NO way anyone could survive that impact, but fortunately, he walked away unscathed, and even the spectators / photographers behind the barrier didn't get hurt either, which was amazing all round........
