^^^ this.

Though as the season goes on I do find myself rooting for the underdog, whoever it may be.

Its got a bit boring the last couple of years though, I'm sad to say. I tend to only watch the highlights these days, not the live races.

Needs bigger engines, more power, more speed.... essentially, it needs to become the Aussie V8 supercars or DTM, in england

I do like BTTC, the racing is much closer and more exciting than F1. It does help that Oulton Park is just down the road from me, there have been some epic races over the years there.

I might be with ye on the V8, but CERTAINLY NOT DTM!! Nothing but a series where GT-like silhouette cars make their rounds nowadays and can't overtake each other because of all the f1-style flaps and spoilers.

It needs either to stay like this or maybe become like this (if that was the DTM ye were talking about)

I'll definitely be at both Brands rounds, as much for the Formula Renault as for the BTCC. Not sure who I expect to see on top in the main events. Plato and Neal will undoubtedly punt each other off a few times and score lots of points in between. Did I see Arena are running BMWs this year? If so, Tom Chilton could be strong.

But there isn't a full entry list yet, ominously, given there's only a month to go.

I quite enjoy watching it (despite the nerfing)

Jason Plato (who seems to have calmed down over
recent years) displays a lot of talent.

I always record the whole thing so I can just watch the racing.

and yes the Ginetta Junior races are brilliant Real 60's race cars

Could have done without the Hamilton brown nosing yesterday....

Ah yes, simple pull-off, driver out of the car, car in a safe position . . . eight marshals trackside & nobody with a bottle . . . look, Ma, I'm on telly!

Alan Gow, who runs the series, is a bit of a magician. Every racing series is hit by recession, but he's adapted BTCC so that there were 22 cars yesterday, and a bigger variety of makes than ever. OK, the standard may not be as high as it once was, with more amateurs and fewer pros, but we still have a good series.

F Renault is worrying. The new car they introduced for 2010 is too sophisticated and too expensive. Only 11 starters, and not one passing manoeuvre in the first race. In the second race, the last driver overtook the last but one, and that was it.

I've got all the time in the world for the regular marshals (most of them, at our clubs - BARC-SEC & SEMSEC, personal friends of long standing), who do all the club meetings etc., if it wasn't for them & us, nobody would have any fun, but...the 'hanger-on' so called 'marshals', who only do BTCC, WTCC, DTM etc. etc. for the 'telly wave', give the 'regular, all meetings' marshals a bad name....IMHO

Yes, it would be good to see Nash do well, but I suspect he's still a civilised single seater driver at heart, and not the one who'll come out on top in a shoving match.

One good thing at Brands was the noise. I worried in case the turbos would sound dull, but they didn't, they were fine.

Enjoy Donington, KimM. I'll be interested to know what state the spectator areas are in now, after all the digging and filling.

Ah won't be at Donnington this weekend - I'm driving past as I spend half my time in Kent. I've spoken to a few friends that where down there not too long ago and I'd rather not subject the new car to that yet... Will be at Croft and Oulton tho. I go to about 70% of the races each year but money is becoming and decreasing factor at the moment.

I will have a word with friends who also marshal at Silverstone and see if anyone still have their guest tickets available if you are interested in that venue, if I get any I will send you a PM...........
