Can't say I am too surprised. He hasn't seemed to have had the same enthusiasm since he won the world championship.

Sad loss for F1, of the three most talented drivers he is one of them!

Not that im an expert in WRC ( actually far from it) but i seriously doubt he can earn anything near what he does in F1, I know he says he would like a competitive car, but i doubt he would make a mark in WRC if he does fair play as he is a great driver.

Is it me or is the agent completely contradicting himself?

"McLaren just weren't offering enough money."

I've been a big fan since he finished 5th(or was it 4th) in his debut at the Canadian grand prix in the Sauber . I love the way that when he is 'on it' he is without doubt the fastest on the F1 grid. Very talented, but he seems to get bored very quickly when the car is not to his liking. A big shame, but in sure he will do well if his earlier rally exploits are anything to go by.

He wanted too much money......nobody would pay it on the back of this seasons showing where we only got a few glimpses of him at his best. He is not his own best advocate, and Ferrari effectively paying him to go away has sent the entire pit lane a message about his standing that only he and his management have apparently been unable to interpret correctly.

Yes, I certainly agree with you there, and if I remember correctly he was paid $20 million to go away from Ferrari. So he has gone, and who can blame him really..........

I'm with you on that. I think he is an exceptional driver but no longer has the motivation.

Look at it this way. Kimi will be earning more for NOT driving a Ferrari one year than Button will be earning to drive a McLaren for 2 years...

But it is a shame to loose such an outstanding driver... IMO he is in top 5 list of active drivers at the moment...

Although he appeared lacklustre this year I think it spoke volumes when Badoer and particularly Fisichella tried to drive the Ferrari. They were nowhere, now I know they werent used to it etc.. but I think it showed that the F2009 wasn't a good car at all. I think he did ok considering
