Northern Irish winner of BTCC

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the BTCC here but big congratulations to Colin Turkington for winning the BTCC even if it was in a (spit) BMW.

I've met his father a few times and know they as a family are big into their motorsport so I'm pleased that the Portadown man did so well.

All we need is for Alfa to re-enter BTCC with a competitive car and get the Turk into a decent marque

Haven't followed BTCC much recently, but noticed he won it at the weekend

Congrats to Colin,

we also have a rally champion, Kris Meeke won the IRC last weekend.

Good for him - haven't been able to follow the BTCC much recently (been out on Sundays and/or clash with F1), so very well done!

Always exciting, the BTCC!

He did very well to hold on to a championship, that was up for grabs until the last few laps of the last race.
Turks came under great pressure from two 'old hands' in Giovanardi and Plato over the last few weeks and to be honest I thought he might crack, but well done to him for getting that first championship.

He's also a fair, decent and clean driver - will very rarely clash with other cars - unlike Matt Neal who thinks his car has a massive tyre around the outside of it!

Well done CT

Well Gio's a fair and clean driver anyway.

Yeah he does but I don't think he is ever unfair (well rarely).
Hard? Yes... very.
Dirty? No.

Put it this way, if I were going into a tight corner on the outside of someone while fighting for the lead, I'd rather it be Gio than Plato, Neale, Herbert, Vaulkhard and quite a few others.

That's not to take anything away from Turks who I agree is a very fair driver.
